As an AMD fan, I'm buying Bulldozer. And, I think it will be better than i5 overall -- however, the top model will cost $245 (it is rumored).
On the other hand, for a "non-denominational" purchaser or Intel fan, $150 is a good price for i5-2500K (I notice they are $200 at Newegg after accounting for free DVD burner). Good "bang for buck" --
not something one can usually say regarding Intel

Anyhow, provides an interesting dilemma for an "open minded" (not me

) person in the market for a new CPU
