I've become really burned out on MMO's and after Rift told myself that I won't get another one as I play for a month and then become bored. This one doesn't really appeal to me and the huge price isn't helping me want it any more either.

? There is a $60 version, you do not NEED to buy any of the collector's editions.

I am also bored of MMOs. Specifically the sword and sorcery stuff. I quit wow and will not play another until TOR.

I get bored with PvE content quickly. I am not one of those MMORPG players that enjoys grinding the same content over and over until I get decked out in all epic gear and I also do not like to level alts. I like to play through once to get the story and then PvP.

The same way I plan on playing BF3.

Also, the co-op aspect of MMOs helps me keep in touch with friends. That is the main reason I bother with them at all.

It's been a while since an MMO has had this much hype before release. I sometimes think that it would be impossible for The Old Republic to meet the sky high expectations but I guess we'll see!

I agree Panzer and after the C.O.D. debacle I am afraid to get excited but from a few friends who have seen it in action it is supposed to be Epic and Bioware has yet to fail me.

I've finished Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Knights of the Old Republic several times each so I feel the same about Bioware.

Yes agreed. Bioware for me has had a flawless run. Cast your mind back to Neverwinter Nights.... Ahhhh a true classic with endless gameplay.

But i have to agree, I am done with MMO's that require a monthly subsciption. Just hoping that it doesn't go the same route as S/Wars Galaxies. A real dissapointment.

Though some of my memorable were Subscription MMo's were...

Eve
And probably my most fabourite.... Planetside. In its hey day, it was the closest thing to mass warfare i have seen even by todays standards.

I've played the TOR Beta. It is exactly what I expected an MMO from BioWrae would feel like. Very Polished.

If you are looking for a game like WoW from a company that has put out games like Mass Effect, you will not be disappointed.

What if you want just KOTOR 3 and have no interest in level grinding or PvP or any of those other MMO staples?

In other words, how "conventional" is it?

Can't wait for this one! I got 30 days of leave scheduled for December LOL!! The companion characters will be awesome! This could be a great MMO for everyone! not just one side of the MMO community.

I had pretty much already made up my mind after seeing tons of video footage that I wasn't going to play this game.

Yesterday I received a notice in my email that I've been selected for this weekend's test. My resolve is being tested.

I got into the beta. It played a lot like a hybrid between Guild Wars and KOTOR. I didn't bother grouping with anyone.

I'm buying it. I don't like the combat system as much as KOTOR, but it is a lot of fun. And for those of us who just wanted KOTOR 3, it does deliver. Note to MMORPG players: It is more single player friendly and grouping seems to be a bit borked in its current implementation.

shan2,
the NDA for the beta states you are not to talk about or say you are in the beta.

You're OK stating that you're in TOR beta, you're just not supposed to discuss anything about the game.

I'd really like to discuss it too....I have plenty to say. smile

I have somehow managed to be in the final beta test now for TOR. Wow, it's really good. I'm finding myself wanting to get on nightly now. The storyline keeps me going back. I've tried the Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor and the Imperial Agent. Not so fond of the agent so far but the Inquisitor is awesome. I do hope to
try out the Bounty Hunter before the beta ends.

I have been on the beta testing since the beginning. Watching this transform from beginning to final beta is amazing.

My experience this weekend changed my opinion from "not going to buy" to "definitely going to buy". Perhaps not right at launch, but definitely at some point.

Wait, is this SW:TOR or a Fight Club MMO?

Whoops. I admit it. I didn't bother reading the NDA. I guess I'm a bad beta tester. Hehehehe.

I barely have time to play the game. They're kidding themselves if they believe I'm going to read a multi-page contract to test a game.
