OK, a thread for SimHQ hotlaps. As I type this there are 6 races left in the F1 calendar.

The dates of the real F1 are as follows:

Singapore (25 September 2011)
Japan (9 October 2011)
Korea (16th October)
India (30th October)
Abu Dhabi (13 November 2011)
Brazil (27 November 2011)

Submit your best times for each track and I'll compile a leaderboard. Please include which constructor and any assists (if any) you are using.

Results so far:

-----------------------------------------------------
Singapore - Marina Bay Street Circuit (Hotlap window: 25 September-02 October)

1. 1:31:107 - Ahmad
2. 1:31:309 - F19-CoNa
3. 1:36:944 - SteveGee

Real Lap Record: 1:45.599 - K Raikkonen (2008)

-----------------------------------------------------

Japan - Suzuka (Hotlap window: 09 October-16 October)

1. 1:25:262 - F19-CoNa
2. 1:27:590 - Paradaz
3. 1:30:691 - Myrig

Real Lap Record: 1:31.540 - K. Raikkonen (2005)
-----------------------------------------------------

Korea - Korean International Circuit (Hotlap window: 16 October-23 October)

1. 1:30:491 - Paradaz
2. 1:31:076 - F19-CoNa
3. n/a

Lap Record: 1:50.257 - F Alonso (2010) (Ridiculously Wet race - First GP was in 2010)
-----------------------------------------------------

There is no Bahrain. Also, people tend to enjoy lapping a circuit the week leading up to the GP, not the week after wink

Cheers, edited the first post....I presumed they would have already had the Bahrain track in the game. I'll leave the text in there for now regarding the hotlaps following a race.

Many people also like the ability to watch the race, get tips from the racing lines and then go and do it themselves with real times in which to compare against. With the window open for a week and usually a 2 week break between tracks it allows you to hotlap on the track that has just passed on the real F1 season and then change focus to the upcoming track for a week of practice. It effectively allows for a week of practice to learn the current track and week to submit a time.

If anyone feels strongly about this we can change it though.

A Singapore hotlap which I'm sure everyone will find easy to beat: 1:39:009

No assists/Manual gearbox
Standard Singapore setup (not got round to playing with it yet)
No DRS or KERS used (I have enough to concentrate on at the moment)
Still not 100% happy with my DFP setup but G27 should arrive in a couple of days

Just did a quick 8 laps around Singapore. I used TCS and ABS + auto shift + racing line. I know a lot of guys here will frown on that, but I like to minimize frustrations when I play games. If I get too frustrated with a game I tend to stop playing and/or throw things... First time I've ever driven on the Singapore track too...

I like equality in hot lapping so I used the same settings: Ferrari, no assists, no drs/kers, default setup. I also used cockpit view (I actually found it easier, I usually prefer T-cam).
