Hi, I just installed 1.28E for the first time and I think it's working fine but I just did a screen capture test and my resolution is only 1024 x 768.

Can I increase to 1280 x 1024? That's the optimal resolution for my monitor/graphic card.

As I'm playing with the graphics settings I can't find a resolution menu anywhere.

Thanks in advance for help...

Never mind, found eaw.ini and changed the values manually by typing them in. Now flying at high res. Looks awesome!

Hi MonsterZero_jr.

EAW uses the graphic setting in the EAW.ini file.

You'll find it in your EAW folder. Just open it with Notepad, and you'll see the setting as Graphic = 1024x768. You can change it to any higher setting your monitor will handle.

I run the game in 1280x1024 without a problem. wink

Supports EAW 1.29.exe, Drop in and Play Technology. wink

You can change your screen settings using the eaw.ini file.
I just made mine to the native resolution of my laptop:

[GRAPHICS]
Width=1280
Height=800
TestDrawPrimitive=1
DisplayDevice=0

Because the nVidia driver does not give horizon fog in d3d, I normally run in Glide mode and use the Glidewrapper.
Unfortunately this is old software which only allows 4:3 screens, and when I fly I get a Glide init error.
However, if I switch to d3d it works fine and runs the game at 1280x800.
Just edit your eaw.ini file to the screen width and height you need.

wink Jel

Higher resolution bring you closer to the windshield - is there a way, when in cockpit front view ,to slide back a little more than the minus key gives you?

What is considered to be the optimum resolution?

Hi Smoby,

1024x768 give you the best wide view. If you have to use the glidewrapper and if your monitor allow 2048x1536, you can let the glidewrapper convert the graphics to this very high resolution.

With my old Monitor this was possible and the result was phantastic. smile
My flatscreen cant handle that anymore.

Unfortunatelly we cant generate the nice "1024x768 wide view" for all resolutions. frown

Greetings,

Knegel

If you think `thats close enough´, go closer, until the plane fill up the windscreen, then a short burst is enough!

Hi Knegel,

Yes, I agree the cockpit in 1024x768 does give the most realistic view. But thanks for answering my query. I wasn't sure if there was a way to retain this or not with higher resolutions.

I can't imagine what kind of cockpit front view you had with a 2048x1536 res. Nose pressed up against the windshield I expect. frown

Regards,

Smoby.

Would you believe 2048x1536 will give you the same field of view within EAW game as does 1024x768.
