Selected AM3 Boards will get a bios update to allow AM3+ CPUs, however you will be missing some power management features that is accessible through the 942nd Pin on the AM3+ Pin-Array / AMD 900 Series Chipsets.
Also the 8xx Series Chipset's HyperTransport 3.0 (up to 5.2GT/s) don't have the HT Link speed of the 9xx Chipset's HyperTransport 3.1 (up to 6.4GT/s). So You may not be able to put the 8 Core Bulldozer in a AM3-941 Pin board, or if you can it will have a crippled H.T. Link Speed.
Not to mention AM3+ w/ 9xx Series supports both SLi And XFire.
