[quote=aggressorblueJust to be clear, the AM3 platform is NOT being supported by Bulldozer though, correct? I thought I read a while ago that there were some MOBO manu's building AM3+ boards, with "guarunteed" Bulldozer compatibility, but that BD would have had to made too many architecture concessions if it left a foot planted in the AM3 spec. Again, that was at the start of the year, so I was wondering if that had been solidified at least. [/quote]

Some of the newer revisions of AM3 board will support AM3+ chip through a BIOS update - CONFIRMED. They do mention support though, which leads to beleive there will be limitations if not using a native AM3+ board.

Selected AM3 Boards will get a bios update to allow AM3+ CPUs, however you will be missing some power management features that is accessible through the 942nd Pin on the AM3+ Pin-Array / AMD 900 Series Chipsets.

Also the 8xx Series Chipset's HyperTransport 3.0 (up to 5.2GT/s) don't have the HT Link speed of the 9xx Chipset's HyperTransport 3.1 (up to 6.4GT/s). So You may not be able to put the 8 Core Bulldozer in a AM3-941 Pin board, or if you can it will have a crippled H.T. Link Speed.

Not to mention AM3+ w/ 9xx Series supports both SLi And XFire.
