Hey guys!

Been a horribly long time since I posted anything in this forum. I venture to guess the last contribution I made was last March or April?

Since I have been busy and added a few more tools for my photography...habit. Which is the entire point of this post.

I bought a 30in Dell Ultrasharp and a Spyder Elite 3 for calibration. Simply put... For those with calibrated monitors: How's the image below look? Color, contrast, brightness, etc. Not overly concerned with sharpness since it appears Flickr still likes to nuke my photos.

Cool shot, was out there August 2010. Spent a week out in Sturgis the week after the rally.

I calibrate by eye using the zone system (Ansel Adams) and tonal quality and color quality is good here. Colors look natural and not overly saturated.

Need to bump the black. Too much fill for my taste.

Thank you guys. I will start a thread of the trip when I have time to edit more. Sure an amazing area of the US and it's just chalked full of history. :-)

U96 - I can see what you mean. Do you use an IPS panel?

Yobbles - I did that too before and it worked pretty well. However I figured if I was going to spend so much on a monitor, I might as well calibrate it the surefire way.

The tower is nice, but the vegetation in the foreground looked a bit washy to me. I just felt it needed a bit more punch. Grey overcast doesn't help though, I appreciate that kills contrast like nothing else!
