I read a story a long time ago about a Hellcat (may have been Wildcat) pilot that managed to get a kill on a G8N with no guns left.

He had shot down two Rezan's already, but had no rounds for his 50's left.

He basically rudder yawed quickly back and forth across the third Renzan's tail and the turret gunner shot his own Vert Stab to pieces. Aircraft went out of control shortly after.

I thought that was pretty funny. Not sure if he was ever officially credited with that kill though. Can't remember the whole story. I think I read it in Reader's Digest.
