Picked it up for the PC a few days ago with one of my Best Buy giftcards with somewhat low expectations (I never followed the stroyline or was into the table-top games) and have been really suprised. I was a little "blah" about the demo, but since I am not really a SP can of person I wanted to give MP a try. I must say, I am really impressed. IMO, MP is a LOT of fun in Warhammer. The classes seem well-balanced and the maps are very well done. Graphics are quite nice and the sound is also very well done. I like how you can customize your characters weapons/armor/colors/perks/etc. I never once feel like there is one class that is overpowered and just unfair to play against. Each class definitely has it's pluses and minuses and each offers has something for the player. The interesting part is how each side seems to represent a pretty good mix of the classes. This is obviously a testament to the balance of the game and makes for some interesting gameplay online.

I find the MP really addictive. There are only two modes (with a COOP planned as free DLC), essentially deathmatch and sieze/control. Some may scoff at the very limited number of gamemodes in Warhammer, however, for me, this is not an issue since I only play deathmatch and sieze/control games anyways. You need to rank up to unlock weapons, armor, etc.. but you can rank up at a fair pace. Also, when you die, you have the option to copy your killers class. This is nice since it enables newer players to never feel like they have enough "oomph" to take out the other higher leveled players. Most of the time I have played, it seemed like either side could have won. There were VERY few instances of one side just getting trounced. Out of all the times I have played the past few days, I have only been in laggy servers 2 times. Other than that, the game has played great online. Games are fast-paced but also seemed quite tactical in some of the servers I played in. Interstingly, there were a lot of players using the voice chat feature and communicating with eachother on enemy positions, movements, and their plans. I really felt like a member of a team when playing. I think some of this stems from the fact that the classes really do compliment eachother. Each class certainly has its limitations, but definite strengths as well.

The graphics, IMO, are also very well done. Animations seem nice and the textures look great. Particle effects look very nice and who doesn't love the dust kick up from a jetback taking off? There is a sense of weight when you run and a sense of power/forces when you manipulate the weapons. You really do feel like your character onscreen is a massive armor-clad badass. The feel of each character seems to fit well with the "look" of your player.

Overall, I am really impressed with the game. I think more people would enjoy it if they gave it a chance and looked beyond the demo. It isn't for everybody, but if I had to do it over I would definitely purchase again.

I'm definitely gonna pick it up, but I'm never gonna buy a game at full price, especially now that they're almost $60. Steam or D2D will drop the price soon and that's when I'll jump on it.

It's a good game. Like I said, I am not much for SP, but I am really enjoying the MP side of it. Strangely enough, I can honestly say I have not read or heard any negative comments from players while in-game. It is ot for everybody, but it is different and interesting.

That's interesting, I always thought they absolutely butchered all the warhammer games. They feel nothing like the board games or the books. I had some positive vibes about space marines since I liked space hulk back in the days. I tried the demo but I really thought it stunk. Walk a bit, hordes of orchs, walk a bit, hordes of orchs... Rubbish. Standard shooter with different characters.

Good to hear that MP is fun though. Maybe I should get a used copy later on this year, slip on a Bolt Thrower CD and go shredding for the emperor.

It's not fantasic and it's not rubbish either...it's OK...the close quarter fighting is good enough to keep you going even though it is reptitive with no AI programmed anywhere, even when you get to the Chaos Marines..they are just Orks with guns...and abit harder to kill...but as I said the sound effects and intensity of the melee keeps the interest up.
