Hi warthog77,
I decided to make this new topic so we can continue to talk about whatever it is you want to talk about, following on from the 'Apache and Hind in DOSbox' topic. It's only fair that we don't talk there anymore about off-topic stuff.

I also decided to make this a public topic rather than a private message so others could read and perhaps benefit from our discussions.

To answer your latest entry from that other topic...

I sent you an e-mail a few weeks ago telling you that I had added those heli sims you told me about to my 'History Of Helicopter Simulations' website and asked you for some screenshots.

Did the LB2 Speech Pack work for you? It was in fact another German player who asked me to upload those files, as they wanted to hear the game as it was intended too!

You are right that the AH-64 TADS cannot store targets, only the FCR on the AH-64D Longbow can. With the Comanche, it used what was known as 'sensor fusion'. This meant that the optical sensors (similar to the TADS) and the FCR worked together and were not separate sensors as such. Therefore, what was stored on the FCR was seamlessly displayed in the optical sensors and through the helmet-mounted display! The Longbow does have a kind of sensor fusion but it is inferior to that of the Comanche's - with TADS and the FCR working together you could have FCR target symbols superimposed over stored targets in the TADS via a function known as the C-Scope. LB2 is actually the only sim I know of so far which models this, with no mods.

Haha, there are no troops in CG, and given how hard it is to realistically represent them, it was probably for the best!

Hi Flyboy,

indeed, that is a good decision :-) I am glad to talk with you :-)

you have to excuse me - i have not so much time at the moment to check the Lb2 Speechfiles..jesus, i had already not the time for trying to install LB2 on XP - i only read the instructions from your side & downloaded the specific files..

the only way to play is at work mycomputer - in my lunch-pause / break(?)
i put LB1 fully on an 4GB USB-Stick with Dosbox074 - works very good - but i have to deal only with keyboard.. and no sound..
it just playing..flying around and no intense "playing".

Thanks for the explanaiton about the Sensors :-)

..no email received
but
please check your email i send you yesterday some pics (pls note i sent from my googlemail!) biggrin
hope you will enjoy - if you need more information, pics etc. please ask
..i was thinking to write a preview for this game..but no time to test it intensively - and it is fo myself very diffivult to compare it with the different flight models i.e. LB etc.
unfortunalety i don't know if "Das Hexagonkartell" is a so called Abandonware - but the publisher "Ascaron" seems to be "dead" ..

so i have to attend my duty here
bye

Hi warthog77,
I thought I saw an e-mail from you yesterday but it went into my Spam folder! And when I chose to move it into my Inbox it just disappeared! It must be Yahoo!'s fault and I hate the new interface that they have made all users have now. It seems to be unreliable sometimes - like when your e-mail got deleted when I tried to move it!

If it's not too much trouble, please could you re-send that e-mail?

I think it is probably safe to assume that 'Das Hexagon-Kartell' is abandonware. But what does it matter if you just want to write a review of it?
