Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but they are recruiting for an "Aerial Combat Title":

Remembering now just how many hours I spent on SWotL...

They already made SWON (a rather unimpressive arcade title). The management of lucasarts no longer makes products for PC anyway... maybe we can change that someday (Tie Fighter 2 anyone?)

The best substitute for SWOTL would be Il-2 1946... (or one can just play SWOTL)

Some discussion about this also in the "Outer Space" area:

Since in the job description it talks about

Experience with flight sims, aerial shooters, and especially space-based shooters a plus
I think it's probably for a Clone Wars game for XBLA but that's just a guess.

speaking of Lucasfilm games.. i can remember spending (probably too many) happy hours on 'Their Finest Hour: Battle of Britain' and 'Battlehawks 1942' smile The book/manual that came w/ with Their Finest hour was really rather good too wasn't it? Those were the days when reading the manual was part of the experience eh... well i guess you had to use your imagination a bit more back then, what w/ the blocky graphics being so abstract wink And the 'Stele Chronicles' book included in the Tie Fighter box added to the experience there too of course.

Ah... sweet memories of my many pre-adolescent hours spent flyin Lucasfilm's BoB and SWOTL smile

The manuals were definitely part and parcel of the experience back then.
Dynamix's Red Baron II glossy magazine-stock manual with the colour profiles was, imo, the most impressive I owned.

God I loved the original SWOTL, I don't know how many hours I put into that game. Good memories.

The new Lucas arts game will probably be a tie in with Lucasfilms new film red tail, it's a cgi heavy film based on the Tuskegee airmen, I'd post a link but I'm on my iPhone and I don't know how to do it lol but the trailer is on you tube now. It kinda looks good!

Edit: managed to work it out, link below
