Oh, and post results of M91 once you get it re-sighted. I love its trigger and I have a feeling it might be mighty accurate. Not shooting pennies at 100 yards accurate, but close to it.

Yep, the SVT is a fun gun to shoot. I don't take it out of the safe very often, because I dread cleaning the thing afterwards. I mainly bring out these days when I know I'm going to be shooting with someone who hasn't shot one before or it's been a long time since I've fired it.

Yep, I'll be taking the M91/30 back out probably the first weekend of June. I'm really itching to see what this thing does now. Still can't believe it was two little screws that were causing me all sorts of confusion. biggrin

Finally took my toy out. Trijicon red dot on FNP Tac (.45). This 2 MOA red dot made it shooting a bit different and ability to place grouping into one hole (sort of) at 10 yards.

Those Mechanix gloves are the worst kept secret in the shooting world. I don't know anyone who trains with gloves that doesn't use them, me included. And dang does that front sight look skinny. Is that the stock front sight?

Sim!
Ok, Buddy, let's here about your Tactical .45!
I love the way my FNP-45 shoots, and am considering selling it and getting the Tactical version.
So, what do you think of having the RDS on top of the slide?

I've been searching for proper gloves for a while now. My old ones completely disintegrated and this ones are perfect.
That sight is standard on FNP Tact. It's night sight (radioactive illumination) and higher then normal to accept suppressor.

I don't know difference between normal and tactical version. I think the only difference is threaded barrel and sight being higher than normal. Trigger is nicer than FNX9, including single pull, but gun it self is larger and more 'weightier'. While my grip is good for FNX, FNP feels slightly too large. But 15 rounds of 45 in a mag sure is nice.
Originally when I bought it, shells would jam during ejection due to heavy spring, but after letting FNP sit for a week racked back, everything was good to go.

Red dot on pistols is first for me. This one produces slight zoom effect and now I have to adopt to different aiming. It seems there is slightly less real-estage to work with due to little bar surrounding red dot. I think it may reduce quickness to acquire target. Although I probably need more time. Hopefully this answers it.

Oh, little cap on FNP tac is constantly unscrewing...very annoying as it's difficult to clean all of gunk on thread.

Do you have a suppressor for the tactical, Sim?

Try just a small touch of blue locktite on the threads to keep that thread protector from coming off when you don't want it to. Blue, not red.

I do not. It would be a neat addition though.

I hear there is an easier way of doing it. There is a small wire ring that will keep it from unscrewing. I don't want to add locktite every time I want to clean the gun.

Sim, the FNP 45 is a LARGE gun. Heavy, big, and boy does it ever shoot soft for the .45 round.
I had my Army buddy shoot it at the range last time we were together. He is a waaay better shot than I am.
He was doing the "Failure to Stop" drills (2-chest, 1-forehead) from a low ready, and was consistantly hitting the same spot.
I know that whenever I put that pistol in the hands of a new shooter, they do well with it.
Way too large for a CCW in my opinion, but what a great hunting/range weapon.

Do you feel you are slower on target with the RDS? Or simply a matter of practice?

I prefer the "Spetnaz gloves", of which Hatch Gloves makes a similar model known as the Reactor. The only trouble problem is finding them for a good price, I paid only $18 before delivery from the Ukraine for my current set but a lot of places online want more like $40-50 for them.

$40-50 is a lot for a shooting glove but these are useful for a lot of other things besides shooting unlike many tactical, driving and work gloves.
