No, 6850-70 are equivalent to 5850-70, that means that in essence they're a more efficient design of the 5850-70s. They're not faster, they just have better TDPs, noise, temperature, better tesselator units and a few other stuff, like 1.2 displayport. And they're cheaper.

Btw, the new Sapphire Toxic is getting glowing reviews from most sites. The problem is that you can't find them, and they cost 20 bucks more than the normal versions.

I'll concede equivalent in some ways, but in some other ways/tests the 58xx beats out the 68xx. My 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition beats out the 6870 in many benchmarks for example. I guess my point was, if you already have a 58xx and you want to get the equivalent of the 68xx, don't. Go to the 69xx series. smile

That's just the nomenclature. I was comparing them in terms of power.

Well, I've been using the 6950 for the past two days, and they could call it mud for all I care, because it's way better that I was expecting, and thats saying a lot! Does great in Arma II with eyefinity, as does rise of flight. So far the most surprising is FSX, which is a very CPU dependent sim. While max fps saw only about a 10% jump, the massive frame-rate jump from 5 to 120 fps had stabilized, making things much smoother.
