Nice bike. Looks like it is heavy and fast at the same time.

It looks bigger than it is. It's about 1" larger in wheelbase than a ZX14 Ninja, which to be fair isn't exactly small bike either.

It is certainly smaller than an ST1300 in every dimension including weight. It is not in gold wing territory but that smuggler box I have to replace the rear seat makes it seem bigger than it is. I think it makes it look a little "stubbier" so it seems fatter.

It's not exactly a small bike though, no. smile

The old ST is still in the garage next to it for the time being.

Wow congrats Archangel, she's gorgeous and looks like a nice one for trips and sport-touring, I really like the exhaust too.

Do you notice any quality/fit difference going to Kawasaki versus the Honda?

I will be pulling my '01 Honda VFR800 out of mothballs this year after a few years as a garage queen since my youngest daughter was born, I am really looking forward to getting back to sport tour day trips, I've missed it.

Update Obligatory bike pic beercheers

1400cc's wow that must give you some serious passing power when needed too.

Quality difference? Nothing that I can really notice although to be fair the Honda is much more "plain" than the Kwaka. Fit and finish I would say are pretty comparable. But, after 13 years absolutely everything on the Honda works like a champ and fires up with no issues and rides rattle free.

Believe it or not, I find the Connie to be more friendly for basic maintenance. No bodywork at all comes off for oil changes, whereas the Honda did and the exhaust isn't in the way of anything at the rear end. The bag system also is more convenient for on/off on the connie. Only drawback, and this is nit-picky, is that the key has to be in the bag to open/close it, whereas the Honda could be opened no problem as long as it was unlocked.

Nice Vfr. I friend of mine has one too and it's a darn nice ride.

Good to hear on the Kawasaki quality, I have a friend who had one of the older Connies too and it was bullet proof so I think you went from a bullet proof ST to a bullet proof Connie, the best of the tourers, congrats again!

PS. I'll have to touch base with you if I ever get up around your area on my VFR, in that picture that is BC Canada there on the other side of the water from Neah Bay, though I guess you are more into the inland Canada (Calgary?) based on your day rides to Glacier Park.

About 2 hours south of Calgary actually, but sure. Drop a line if you're ever in this neck of the woods.
