Hey Gents, I just picked up a cheap copy of CFS3 off Amazon. Installed beautifully on Win7 x64 with no issues whatsoever, barring one annoying quirk; when I bring up either my kneeboard (N) or the quick help whosey-whatsit (F2), the window displays just a string of xml code (see attached screen shot).

Might anyone know a fix for this admittedly minor issue? Is this a known issue with Win7? I asked Google, but she was stumped...

Thanks

Okay, the issue isn't so minor after all. I just started a campaign and the opening briefing screen has the same issue:

Turning into a real pisser. I'm using the FirePower addon, but have gotten the same issue before installing it. Anyone have a clue?

Does not do that on my system. Is the copy you got off Amazon scratched. You might want to make an image of the CDs and re-burn them.

Unfortunately it was a brand new copy, so I'm thinking it's a Windows 7 issue. I haven't installed OFF yet (the reason I picked up CFS3 to begin with), but hopefully that doesn't have the same issue... Fingers crossed.

I'm not having that problem either. CFS3 with Firepower on Win7 x64 using Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.

Before installing, did you 'explore' the dvd/cd, right-click on the setup.exe and set its compatibility to XP SP2? And then run by right-clicking it again and selecting 'run as administrator'? From Vista onwards, they changed where programs like CFS3 put some of the files that are installed outside the Program Files (main install) folder. Could be the problem. Maybe key files are installed where CFS3 can't find them.
