SimHQ A-10C Fly In
Saturday, 24-Sep-2011

Fly In Guidelines:
SimHQ & 104th_Phoenix's DCS A-10C Fly In

A-10C pilots, join forces for multiplayer action on Saturday, September 24th, 2011.

Into the valley...

The SimHQ TeamSpeak 3 server is available for A-10C voice communications. The multiplayer missions will be co-op, but if we do get into some Blue vs. Red then there are separate SimHQ TS3 channels available.
See the SimHQ Multiplayer Forum for TS3 server connection details.
SimHQ TS3 Details

And back.

The 104th Pheonix has offered their A-10C flying server for flight operations. Expect a bunch of hours-long missions over the course of Saturday, 12 - 36 hours of ongoing operations ? The 'stallturn' server is the designated alternate. Admins will be there for us on these servers - many thanks.

These 104th Squadron servers are accessed through the A-10C sim, Multiplayer link, and pilots must have an account with
Digital Combat Simulator

Out of fuel about five miles out... no problem

Another good day

A bad day for somebody

This is a loose-knit all volunteer group (AVG) expeditionary force. Meet on the SimHQ TS3 server 24-Sep-2011 to check in for current mission details and pilot voice communications.

This first SimHQ A-10C Fly In is an opportunity to meet and fly with the other pilots who visit the Modern Era: A-10C forum. Block out a couple of hours on Saturday and join the fight - A-10s make a difference.

Thanks to the 104th Pheonix for offering their server for this weekend event.

And a big thanks as always to SimHQ for permission to post this announcement and to use the TS3 server.

Server based in the USA I presume? Will be getting pings of 200+ but I'll be there. What time (UTZ)?

Yes, -Ice,

From one of the 104th pilots, Moa -
The upload bandwidth on the 104th (Pheonix) server is 10 MB/s and located in the States. This means is should be able to handle 40-80 players at once with low ping for you guys. stallturn only has 2 MB/s and is in New Zealand, a good backup plan but not as good as the 104th server. Both 104th_Crunch (near Toronto) and myself (New Zealand) can be around to look after the server (and fly, of course!).

Planning to be an all day affair, from OH-Dark-30 until ? I took Friday off work so I'll be hanging around in the TS3 server - we'll see how this goes...

Sounds interesting WC! Just curious, how many players can an MP server fit? 64?

Hi Madman_Canada,
The max setting I've seen in the DCS A-10C multiplayers list is 32.

Wouldn't it be something to have 20+ players co-opting. It'd be something fun to have 20-30 A-10s on a run in to an S-300 site.

Very nice! I couldn't imagine it at all. The most I've seen of one type of aircraft is 8 KA-50's in one COOP.

Count me in. :-)

So is this a "drop by anytime" sort of event?

IME, this gets old really quick, so what's the plan of action for those of us who'd want to get some serious simming done? ie, is there a "goofing around" server and a "switchology-geeks only" server? biggrin

This is new territory, -Ice, my friend.

I hope that others come along with more ideas for future events. We'll kick the tires on this one and see how it all shakes out. This is a global community and the missions I like often can take a few hours to complete. So, I'm anticipating folks from all over popping in and spending a few hours at different times over the day/weekend.

With the TS3 server we can have a pre-mission discussion, and with the help of the 104th we should be able to start a mission when we are all ready. I'd love to have some coordinated flight plans - the multiplayer missions out there offer varying degrees of difficulty.

I used to host a LOMAC server on HyperLobby and we would fly hours and hours over the weekends, wiping out all resistance and then starting a new mission, or the same one again.

Think positive!

No worries, no worries. Just want to know so I can put myself in a proper frame of mind. Don't want to come in expecting one thing and getting another.

Doubt I'll be up to speed on the Hog by the date but if I am I'll plan to be there and I'll see if I dig up some of my squad mates!

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

I play on the 104th FC2 server from Norway with acceptable ping so count me in. What time (and timezone) does the event start?

Friday -> Sunday, I have to go back to work on Monday wink

Don't everyone wait for me - jump onto the SimHQ TS3 server and see who's flying. I plan to be there as much as I can get away with it. (shedevil ) <- (she's hot)

I've been flying on stallturn's server for some time now because I like the missions so much. But that 104th Pheonix server sounds like it will make for a good connection.

What missions do you like to fly there on the 104th?

Hi guys. Looking fwd to it! In FC2 we have had missions with 64+ players. I am sure DCS will do at least 50+ if your PC is up to it.

I'm in. I've penciled the date in my diary, which is quite a commitment for me as I had to buy both a diary and a pencil.

Will the mission times be left-coast friendly? I don't want to turn up and all you lazy east-coasters go to bed before 4AM etc. smile
