Being a super huge Star Wars fan I was thinking the other night about building my pit to approximate the views of the cockpit of an X-Wing...the problem is that I have searched high and low online and haven't found any interior views of it. Whether they be from games or from stills in the movies. All the views I have found don't show a control stick at all and they are for models. I can't really use the ones from the X-Wing game since they just show the MFD and the shield information which I honestly don't want to deal with making but will eventually.

That would be awesome. I hate to say this because a nerd says it every minute on the web but why don't they remake XWING VS TIE? I'm not interested in reverse engineering the old games just want a new one. Wish I could help but if google can't help you I doubt I'll be much more help.

Was this one of the sites you had found?
Starship Modeler

It seems there has been a lot of schematics and blueprints for the 'Star Trek' vehicles but not the 'Star Wars'...? Oh, and I would love to see the X-Wing vs TIE fighter game refurbished.
Good luck!

No I had not seen that site before...now to spend some time looking through there. I am wondering why LucasArts hasn't redone the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games yet either. Heck for that matter why not a remake of SWOTL! Using that code wheel was AWESOME!

The movie never had interior shots of the cockpit (except perhaps for a close shot of a screen when Luke was discussing his change of route with R2-D2 in "The Empire strikes back"?), so it most probably was never really designed with any accuracy. I would look at the Lucasarts series of games for a guideline of the cockpit layout.

I found a book that I was going to order which has blueprints of every vehicle in the SW universe...however if anyone has any spare $1000 bills laying around I could use them to buy it. http://www.theblueprintsbook.com/

I'll scan through the movies and see if I can grab some screens for ya real quick. Taking a break from cutting the pieces for my cockpit right now anyway. biggrin

Alright, scanned through the movies and grabbed a few screenshots, but nothing spectacular. Here's my findings:

There weren't a whole lot of scenes where much inside of the cockpit was shown, and absolutely nothing useful in RotJ. Hope this helps!

Given that

1. Your basing your 'pit off of a fictional source

2. The lack of recognized material documenting said source 'pit,

I'd say you have the green light to use your imagination on this one....

QFT. What he said.

The pit I'm building is going to be enclosed as well, and also with a sci-fi feel. I would love to throw in nods to various IPs, but due to the lack of documentation everything that I throw in is pretty much going to be purely aesthetic.
