OK the problem seems to be the "quality" of the optical drive itself. I tested a few CD and DVD before loading Daemaon tools. Much to my surprise it (new drive in new PC) had difficulty reading some DVDs and CDs my old XP box has no problem reading. Matter of fact my old XP box can read every CD/DVD I tested, but the new CD/DVD had problems with some. I loaded up Daemon and everything was the same.

So the bottom line is I think the model/manufacture of optical drive is a bit flaky. I am back in business with everything Longbow wise.

Sorry to bring up a long lost link guys. However, I wanted to try this ISO process now.

I am using Active ISO Burner.

I am guessing I make an ISO of disc 1, call it CD1, and save to my hard drive.
I then make an ISO of disc 2, call it CD2 and save to my hard drive.
I then start the set-up from the ISO called CD1.

Is that how this works?

I hear people use the term "mount" when talking about ISO, not sure what that means.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are missing one step. You need software that will mount a virtual CD. The one most of us use is Daemon Tools (as would be suggested by your subject)

You can call the ISO anything you want. You don't necessarily need to install from the .iso either.
Daemon Tools has a 'MOUNT' command which lets you browse for an image to create a virtual drive from.

Works great. I've used it for any number of games. The Lite Version of Daemon Tools (I assume this one is still free) allows you to mount 4 drives simultaneously, but generally I unmount the one I don't need and mount the one I want to use.

first I installed from the CD, then I found and applied the Daemon Tool install. However the game still looks for the disc in the drive E:, where I installed it the first time from the CD. Do I need to delete some registry thing, or what?

Hmmm my recollection was that the game searched through available "optical" drives looking for the disc. I don't think there is any setting that locks it to the install drive.
You mounted the ISO with Daemon tools to a drive letter, right?

Douh... problem found auto start was checked, but auto mount wasn't... now it's perfect!
