Morning has come with unexpected news. I've been ordered to terminate my training and report to the flight deck for an immediate transfer. I'm told I'll be flown from the LHA to the aircraft carrier first.
Never one to waste a trip the Navy utilizes the ferry trip to bring some supplies over to the carrier...
Touching down on the deck I'm directed to another aircraft that is waiting to ferry me to Tel Aviv...
The MV-22 Osprey is an interesting bird and I enjoy my short flight from the carrier to the mainland.
Approaching Tel Aviv I wonder where my ultimate destination will be...and wonder if my training missions have been enough to prepare me for what's next...
The MV-22 makes a very short rolling landing and we taxi to the administration buildings on the east side of the field.
I hop out onto the blisteringly hot tarmac and am directed to a group of several other pilots and ground support personnel that are herded toward a waiting aircraft that I don't recognize but am told by a member of our party is a German C-160D Transall.
The pilots fire up the engines and we start rolling for the runway...
With a dull roar we lumber into the sky before turning northwest over the Mediterranean Sea..
Ten hours later, after a brief fuel stop in Greece, we arrive over Germany and make our descent into Rhein-Main near Frankfurt. The lush green landscape is a stark contrast to the desert terrain we've been flying over at the Range and Israel.
Our weary gaggle disembarks and we are ushered into an in-processing building where we wait for our orders......
A few hours later I'm once again escorted out to an awaiting Royal Navy Westland Lynx and we take off for an isolated highway strip carved out of the forest. Buldern Highway Strip will be our new home base for now.
Flying over Rhein-Main enroute to Buldern...
After a bit under an hour of flying the forested area where the highway strip comes into view...
We make our approach into the narrow strip and set down near the headquarters...where I await for what comes next...

* This campaign might not be completely technically accurate. So rivet counters can stop here. You might see a modern plane completely out of context with the time period or a weapon that doesn't belong on a certain airframe. I'm more interested in having fun than worrying about historical accuracy..!BeachAV8R
