Hope it's better than AvP was. Not bad but felt like I time traveled to 1999. There was a killer Aliens game on the PS1 (for the time). Went into the Space Jockey's ship and all IIRC. I'd really like to see a good one that's with the times.
Come to think of it, aliens and predators always go well together, I'd like another good Predator game like on the Xbox. Predator: Concrete Jungle was excellent, other than the wonky camera and crappy save system.

I liked AvP2 the best as far as a good game. AvP1 was the scariest, but it was also quite hard and now looks very dated. The new AvP looked and played great in individual moments, but the story wasn't so great despite having Lance Henriksen's voice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last AvsP game but there were a few things that I felt prevented it from being a great game,
1. Like Jedi mentioned the story wasn't that interesting.
2. So you can throw the combi-stick but you cant wield it as a melee weapon? What were the developers smoking?
3. No coop mode with predators and marines against hordes of aliens. I really missed that from the original game.
4. The energy replenishmet for the predator was idiotic. The Predator has its own self contained energy device so there's no need to be looking around for generators to extract energy from!
5. The laughably small number of multiplayer maps that came with the initial release of the game. I believe it was a grand total of TWO?
About time to put the Predator out of Aliens game. Will buy for sure!

I'm so glad to see the Predator dropped from the game! Now, it's just squishy human against acid spewing Alien - perfect.
If, that is, the campaign lasts longer than a few hours. I'm getting so tired of shooters focusing on online and leaving the single player with a pathetic excuse for a game that isn't worth £25 or £30.
Is it coming out on Steam? If so, I think I'll hold fire until the first inevitable Steam Sale.
Edit: Just saw the trailer. Wow - super scary! Great!!!

I'm really lookin' forward to this game, but I'm gonna keep my enthusiasm in check just to keep myself from getting too disappointed if it turns out to be crap. The fact that it's so much like the original film and not AvP is promising, so were off to a good start.

I played the AvP ps3 game, I thought it was pretty good. The Aliens campaign was weak and controlled poorly, the Predator's felt like you were too powerful, and I thought the Marine campaign was perfect but it was just too damn scary for me
But I beat it, getting that SMART gun near the end made it all worth it! Love that noise!
This looks pretty solid looking forward to it.

The problem with the AvP games has always been making 3 games in one. The play styles of the 3 species is very different, and I think only Monolith's AvP2 got even close to a good balance, although I still think the Alien side could've used some work. It definitely had the best implementation of the Predator for me, though. I think the need to split focus on the 3 has always hurt the games.
This Marines-only focus should help make the game a lot better. As for MP, well, there won't be any AvPvM deathmatch this time, so hopefully it will be Marines v Alien hordes like in AvP Classic and AvP (but with more maps, AvP had a shamefully small amount just so the rest could be DLC).

I personally had no problem with having the Predator in these games and the game play balancing issue used by some holds no water. I played as the predator in online deathmatces in the first 2 games and I was killed many times by both alien and marine players. It's all about knowing what tactics work and don't work for your species.

I hate it when developers get me pumped up about a new game 'cuz it usually leads to disappointment, but after watchin' the game-play interview I just can't help but feel good about this one.

And in the Aliens universe marines still whine like little girls.
Looks and plays like Gears of War. The co-op sounds like a neat idea. But I could do without the linear gameplay these games seem to need. As they are, they are theme park rides with guns.

Some games have achieved a perfect balance between having scripted/story events and having a free roaming aspect. Hopefully this one will have that perfect balance and I have to say the inclusion of a COOP mode is a huge selling point for me.

That's something few games have accomplished. Many SW games use SW music, which makes them much better, but there are some that don't and suffer for it.
Of course, no ST game has ever used ST music aside from a couple of old games set in TOS which just used the opening theme and it really didn't help.

I would absolutely love for this new game to have Horner's music from "Aliens" but that would mean a siginificant amount of money for the licensing fees.

Besides, that music was largely tied to Ripley, Newt, Bishop, etc and wouldn't always be applicable. You wouldn't want to hear Yoda's Theme in SW:TOR when you visit Nal Hutta, for example.
Most games I just have the music off anyway.

That last video was fantastic, it's easy playing as an Alien or Predator in the last couple of games as is doesn't have a scare factor (for me), you are the monster! I love the feeling they give you while'st playing as a human Marine, you feel so vunerable and as the hissing and screeching comes closer, you know you have to act fast to stop some thing horrible biting your face off!
Not that I don't enjoy playing the Alien, I do miss though the Colonists dropping the molitov cocktails and becoming an inferno, I miss my dinner warm

I still play the crap outta AvP, so if this game is even just as good or better I'll be playin' it to death, so you can count me in.

Maybe we can do some SimHQ coop sessions and meet up on the teamspeak server?
Certainly. I have a group of friends I play various co-op games with every Saturday but, with all of the co-op games on the horizon, there will be no shortage of opportunities to play
BF3 TOR ME3 ACM Syndicate
LOTS of co-op goodness on the way. I can't wait

I don't know, playing coop with SimHQ members may be more terrifying than fighting the actual aliens.

I just hope 2 things. One, it's not like 4 hrs long with some "that's 2x as long as the film!!" BS explanation. Two, it doesn't PLAY like a console game.

+1
Either way, I'll wait for the reviews first before I decide to buy.
