I’ve never had a problem with FPS in rFactor but have experienced a micro-stuttering effect which seemed to increase with the number of cars on the track and at certain points on the track. For example, there were a couple of corners at the Salzburgring race today that I could barely navigate because of the stuttering.

Anyway, after scouring the internet and trying all the suggestions, I finally found the solution to my problem!!! ...

After dropping this d3d9.dll file in my rFactor folder, my stutters have completely vanished!

If you’re having any issues with FPS or stuttering, I suggest that you give it a try. Judging from the comments, it looks like ATI owners are having some success with it as well.

I had some stutters with Salz which surprised me considering I have a pretty fast computer, so I went to the medium graphic setting and they went away.

No problem. I’m just really happy that I found a solution after months of searching and trying different things. I’ve tried everything ... lowering my display settings, going from DX9 to DX8, hardware and driver level tweaks etc. etc..

Now I run all display settings on maximum with 16x FSAA and 16x AF (tested with 40 cars visible)! There’s no reason to compromise your graphic detail with rFactor when you have a fast machine.

Hopefully this fix will stand up to the testing I’m going to put it through in the coming weeks. I was a hair pull away from dropping rFactor all together today.
