Ummm... was I the only SimHQ member that watched the season 2 hour finale last weekend for Falling Skies? The series was a bit cheesy at the beginning with the home amateur-like spx and cgi but the plot and characters started to grow on me. Hope that they continue with great writing and don't spoil it with lisping kids and robot dogs!

I watched it and I thought it was ok. The story is good with the competent acting performance of Noah Wyle.

I just wish they would decide how long the series will run for. I hate not knowing if a series will be 1, 2, or more seasons.
Write a series with a clearly designed plot and conclusion or you end up with something like "Heroes" or "Lost".

Not yet, I'm about 5 weeks behind. Started catching up this week though.
I was pleased they killed off what I thought would be a Baltar character. Too bad Steven Weber is gone at the same time though.

That's not the way tv works in the US. With very rare exceptions, shows stay on the air as long as they make money and if they dont make money they get cancelled pretty fast. This obviously influences the writers greatly as far as what kind of story arcs they will do. The number of US tv shows that were written with a defined ending from the outset is miniscule.

I was enjoying it also. I didn't like the fact that he went into an Alien craft at the end.

Yeah, enjoyable series but the last episode really shows the budgetary contraints. Hardly any CG shots and very small pool of cast members, the "big attack" was, well, tiny.

Still, entertaininge enough to keep watching.

If the show was on a big network it might've had the budget for it, but it might not have had much higher ratings and therefore it might not have been renewed.

Of course, with a bigger budget it might have been considered better and gotten better ratings, so...
