I saw this in the banana forums, but haven't played with it yet.

http://code.google.com/p/il2dce/

It looks early days, but is interesting and is being actively updated.

Has the potential to turn into something great. Will keep my eye on it, particularly since Maddox Games has not announced any sort of proper campaign mode.

I tried it, it sure holds a promise. (also checkout the one the enlightened florist has been working on). The trouble is, the current state of the AI often ruins what could have been a fun mission. Regretfuly, Luthier omits any mention of their plans, if any, to address the AI issues. Too bad for offliners.

A very good thread. I will keep my eye on this. Both Lowengrin and Starshoy made great products of a similar nature . . . may this one lift IL-2 in the same way. smile

He didn't specifically mention it in the "big update" but he did mention in the past there was a dedicated team member assigned to fixing up the radio commands which implies that work on the AI is being done.

I understand that. I was just hoping that the August 6th update would include a hint of what is in the works to improve the AI in the short-term. Even an interim fix to give AI basic functionality would do, just so offliners (like myself) can maintain an interest in the sim. Fingers crossed.
