Some pics from a public live fire arrangement today. It's held by the Danish Army, with the help of a couple of veteran vehicle accociations.
Some bright fellow came up with the idea, that instead of just blowing up the munitions left over from phased out weapons systems, we might as well use it like it was intended, in the museum vehicles still up for it. So, now, once a year, the old coldwar workhorses, Centurion, M41 and Leopard 1A5 goes back in their right element, and are once again allowed to show their teeth. On the way!
The big old cats come out to play. So good to hear that big ole MTU growling again.
Leopard 1's, Centurion and M41 on the firing line
See if you can guess what tank is hiding in the lower left corner? Hint: It's an oldie
They even had two M109's fire a couple of shots. At that range (1500-2000m i think) it was pretty much direct fire for them.
On the waay! Or "Skud kommer!" as it would sound in Danish
I guess two was a bit too triggerhappy here, they were supposed to fire at the same time.. But, I recon the guys on the recieving end wouldn't care much anyway.
