The egg has their shell shocker today. 49 bucks for Corsair 2x4Gb SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). That won't last long.

Who would of thought memory would get so cheap. I remember buying 128Mb sticks of SDRAM years ago for 150 bucks.

ditto, i remember my athlon 750Mhz i built with 128 MB of ram Pc133 i think, was $149.

Then i went to one of those "computer shows" and bought 2 512mb pc133 sticks for $99 each.

running 1 GB w/ Windows 98 SE was considered overkill.

i think the max i could get on my K6II 400Mhz system was 64mb (16mbx4 SIMMS)

I have an old Dell laptop from 2001 that has a 933MHz P3 mobile CPU in it and it will not boot with more than 392Mb memory. I put XP on it and it was so slow. It came with ME on it.

I remember back around 1994. That's when SIMM modules ran $50 per megabyte.
