Was at the U2 concert in Moncton, NB last night - the final show of their 360 tour. Not a fan of their music but had my ticket bought and paid for on the grounds that I would come and not complain, so there I was smile

Anyway, just after the opening acts wrapped up and while we were waiting for U2 to come on, two CF-18s came from the north-west and did several low passes, each time lighting afterburners directly over the crowd. In terms of sheer volume, the Hornets definitely put the band to shame smile

Speaking from total ignorance, I was under the impression that U2 had a strong anti-military stance. But it was pretty 'goosebumpy' to hear the crowd of 80,000+ go nuts every time the jets passed overhead.

Two crappy cell phone pics of the fly-bys.

Here's a video - NOT taken by me - of one of the passes.

Best part of the show, in my opinion. Goin to the air show in PEI Fatty? Also you don't have any video of the pass where they separated and threw some crazy Gs on the jets by chance do you?

That certainly would have been the best bit of the show for me too.
South Park pretty much summed up what I think of Bono....

Yeah, it was a little preachy at times Chucky. At Metallica the giant screen showed, get this, Metallica. This one had other things too. Comes with the territory at a U2 show I guess. Still glad I went. And the jets, which I took as a bit of a "$#%^ you!" to them if it contained any message, sweetened it a lot. Heck I was impressed when there was an RCMP helo flying around. Then we heard something that wasn't a 737...

I went to the air show when it was still at the airport. Once they moved it to Yarmouth/PEI I lost interest - don't know anyone else going, too far a drive by myself, and not much else there worth seeing. I hope they move it back to Halifax someday soon.

I thought it was supposed to be good from what the website is reporting so far, certainly better than the helo show at Shearwater last time at least. A bunch of us are turning it into an excuse to rent a cottage there for the weekend.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011
