"Sleeper Cell Wanted in War to Overthrow the Pope"

A group of us are playing a browser game that combines a medieval political and economic simulation with a roleplaying forum. The roleplayers are enforcing the status quo that makes for an oppressive game: new players come in, all their money goes to the old players (in positions of power), and then they die of boredom.
This changed when we dared stand against this feudal system of oppression, rebelled, and installed a dynamic economy in our liberated lands. The Pope, angered that one of his friends was knocked from power, declared us heretical and placed our lands under interdict. His cronies moved armies against us.
But, remember, we're more wargamers than roleplayers, so we beat them mercilessly.

For our next phase, we need to spread the revolution across Europe. To do that, we need a couple sleeper cells of 5-6 fresh faces to infiltrate enemy-held territories and overthrow them.

This will require a minimum investment of approximately 5 minutes a day for a month, with a little more during the revolution. We will provide training and logistical support.
A successful outcome would entail that, at the end of the month, your cell assume all governmental functions of a city-state.

Contact: me via PM if it sounds interesting.

We just sacked and burned a city this morning. We had been fighting there since friday morning but instead of fighting us they moved all of their silver and citizens to a neighboring city. The battle was something like 26-4 for the first two rounds and on the final round it ended 25-0 (no one even showed for their side.)

S0 we burned half of the city to the ground and looted about 3k silver. The next time we fight them the story will be a bit different smile

Still looking for new players if anyone is interested just drop me a PM.

What game is this? Is this an online version of Here I Stand? Some of my most epic gaming moments came from this historical simulation.

No the game is set in the year 1311 and it is run by Italians so it is pretty much the "medieval ages: How it should have been if Italy was all powerful."

Still, it is pretty fun.

Here is a nice writeup of what just happened in game.

In Urbino, the OCD people decided they didn't like soul's style, with no better reason than that he failed to give papal power the respect they thought was historical (!!), and abandoned the town, refusing to fight. Abandoning the town effectively gave us half (instead of around 10-20%) of the wealth of the people still in town; the people who check in from time to time, do the menial tasks, and generate the wealth from which the OCD nobles get fat.

So now they're writing stories about how "everyone was saved by fleeing Urbino, even the widows and children", while we're putting up on the scoreboard the biggest sack in the history of the game. This game is, alas, a more-than-perfect recreation of medieval reality.

So it turns out that our sack of that cite for 3000+ silver was the largest take from any attack. We netted more money than every other attack combined to date.

Now to move on to the next target smile
