I've been disappointed by games such as Lock-On, because they don't have a dynamic campaign, let alone match Falcon's effort, so I'm looking to repurchase the game as I want a modern jet fighter sim.

But since it's an old one, I need some things cleared up if anyone can help:

1. Will it work under Win 7 64bit?
2. Is Track IR supported (vital)?
3. Are there any mods to update graphics, especially explosions as they weren't very good?
4. Ditto AI/sound.
5. Have any new theatres been made (Middle East would be super)?

It sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.

1. Works well on Win7 64bit (install with admin rights and don't install in C: Program Files
2. Yes, I don't fly without it
3. Aeyes Widescreen pits; one word AWESOME F16CJ WS AF, F16CG WS AF, &F16AM WS AF,
3a. HiTiles AWESOME, there were some mods for explosions but I'm not sure you can find them now as the site with all the skins/mods is offline
4. Gunslinger's sound pack; AWESOME. I hope you have surround sound, crack those speakers up.
5. There are some addon theatres but I never had much luck with them running correctly. I stuck with Balkans and Korea.

What 'expansion'? I didn't ever hear of any expansion actually released in a box - surely they're a bit mixed up and that's the original game? Very cheap yes, but then again it's an old game, and it's second hand.

One other thing: will it be OK with my specs? I heard somewhere there are issues with ATI cards?

Hitiles and Ayes' 1920 x 1200 res pits are brilliant, and excellent value for money.

I'm running on Win 7 64 with an ATI card, and it runs perfectly. Trackir works great, but in 2dof.

If you look around here: http://tactical.nekromantix.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=48 you'll find several theatres, some of which also support Allied Force, but I've never tried any of those since the Korean and Balkans theatres have been more than a handful and I'm still working my way through them

I haven't bothered with skins myself, as I hardly have much time to look at pretty paint jobs when I'm flying AF. Seems I'm always busy trying to NOT get blown to pieces while managing my pit and flipping through the manual trying to figure out how the heck to engage NWS (an old Falcon joke).

And I second Mig's post about tweaking some settings. As said, it works fine out the box, but with some tweaks you can improve a lot of areas, such as terrain resolution, certain cockpit behaviours, etc. These forums have a wealth of info on this stuff, and some really helpful veterans to boot!
