Hi All,

I was wondering since I ran this benchmark it stated that there are similat PC's who scored higher then I did..

Now I scored around 18,500 and the program stated similar PC's scored in the 23000-25000 range.. Now I was wondering why this is so. Perhaps the had over clocked and I am not??

Or they had faster memory then I have??the memory I have is NOT as Fast as I can run. I found I can get faster memory. I have the 12800 memory and found out I can go as high as 17600..

I had run an optimisation last night and defragged. I will try running the test again to see the results and to look at these other PC's that scored faster..

here are my specs which is supposed to be a Good one just not scoring as high as simialr PC;s..

1. Intel 2500K 3.30ghz CPU
2. Asus P8Z68-V Pro
3. Mushkin Silverline 8gb memory.. Will be getting some faster memory, done deal..
4. 2 PNY 470GTX no need to get better here as I am limited on the FPS as I run S3D because of my DLP Projectors..no need to upgrade these as of yet..
5. RocketFish 7.1 sound card.
6. Vision tek 2100 killer NIC.. Really nice card..

I have all the latest updates and drivers just did this yesterday..

OK NVM I am an idiot again lol!!

On further inspection of thos esimilar systems the next highest scoree the guy was riunning a SSD and Higher speed memory..

So I figured it out ... will be looking into a SSD Drive soon..

ok now some guy is saying this benchamrk is not ssd based for a score?? it is CPU,GPU dependent??

Also how would i tell if my OS is corrupted in some way, as to degrade performance??

I would also like to know if there are any test I can run to verify that my system is at peak performance and if there is a bottleneck somewhere as to what it might be..


I had just ordered some new memory and will get that installed asap.. but in the meantime I am trying to optimise my system..

It appears that guy was right and I had some sort of windows Corruption. I reinstalled windows last night and just now ran the 3D MArk Vantage test again adn scored a 26538..WOW.. My system was stated to be working normally..


I did run into another small anomily.. I Over Clocked my CPU to 4.3 amnd it showed up in the Advantage test as being OC to 4.3 but when I run CPU-Z it Only shows the Clock as being At 3.4ghz??

What would cause it to run Normally in windows and OC in a 3D Application??

You probably don't have it set to run OC all the time. You have to disable the power saving features in the BIOS to get it to run at 4.3 all the time. It drops the multiplier down when you are not using the CPU much. Some people like it the way you have it set.

Generally, you can get a higher OC by turning off those power saving features, at the expense of using more power all the time.

I was looking in my Manual I think I have the EIST Enabled.. will check in a min installing ArmA2!!

well turned out EIST Was in Fact Disabled?? NOT sure why the OC setting is not taking while in Windows??

Well I am back to square 1 with the Benchmark Programs. the problem is that the FPS are being limited and causing a low score..

What the cause is I think the FREE Versions limit the FPS in the tests.. If someone here could DL the 3D MArk Vantage to test this theory I would be gratefull.

I am going to buy it anyhow to test the theory if nobody runs the FREE Vantage Benchmark..I am thinkin the Paid copy will have unlimited FPS and not be limited like I am being now..

I am at a loss as to why my frames are?? Does anyone have any idea what is going on here and why I am getting a 60FPS cap in the Vantage benchmark?? All my other games the FPS seem NOT to be capped??

Make sure vsync is off in your Nvidia control panel as well as in Vantage. Also make sure you're not running a 3rd party profiler like Rivatuner or some such.

well vSync is off in the NVCP and it does not look like it is on in the benchmark.. I do not use rivatuner or any 3rd party profilers..

Gave 3DMark Vantage a try on my machine. Had to install it. So, its a fresh install. I did pay for it (long ago); so, its an unlocked version -- if that has anything to do with anything. I noticed the max frame rate in any test was 366 (Feature Test 6 on the screen momentarily). I get very-slightly different numbers each time I run it.

For completeness, I downloaded and installed the free version of 3DMark11 (recently updated). Ran it at the standard settings (only way to run the free version).

3DMark11 Score P 7724, Graphics 8698, Physics 6076, Combined 5392, GPU1 46, GPU2 45, GPU3 55, GPU4 22, Physics 19, Combined 25.

Wow Neph, you running that proc at 4.6Ghz all the time or are you letting the BIOS lower the multiplier when it's idling?

well the temps at idle are really cool nop need to declock it..

I downloaded the newest free version V1.10.

The install did not allow me to pick a new folder or differentiate the new install. So, it merely updated my previous install to V1.10 -- probably not what you were after.

I ran it twice -- getting very-slightly different results from above -- P26245, G29518, etc. The FPS values were within 1 FPS of the above.

Although, as I remember, I only paid $5 for the right to retest (did not get the pro version for $20) -- so maybe this runs like the free version -- but allows unlimited test runs.

In fact, here's a thought: Maybe you ran more than the minimum number of "Free Test Runs" without paying the $5. Hence, the program has limited your FPS as a "reminder" to pay the $5.

All this is FWIW, as I am remembering from a long time ago regarding payment and "limited test runs". And, maybe, the latest version of the software is different.

OK I been told that the benchmark does not limit your FPS?? I still can see what is causing my FPS to be limited to 60??

OK I had another Suggestion of turning OFF Triple Buffering but that did NOTHING>>

I was also told that I am running a 120hz Monitor because that is the ONLY way I can get 90FPS.. I like How some fool can Say what I have when he does NOT know Crap..

I did get 90FPS and I do NOT have a 120HZ monitor it is not even a monitor Guess he refuses to read my sig on some other website lol!!!

I in fact have a 75HZ monitor and 1 Time I ran this after a Fresh install I was getting 90 FPS so the HZ has Nothing to do with what FPS I get..

It does in FACT MAtter ONLY when I Enable S3D..but during the test I turn of the S3D Effect to see what I really get..

I think because it is the free version it is porked because know I get an error after about 3 tests that Full Screen Failed to come on or somothing stupid.. So Basically I can NOT even run the test now..

I think When I get some cash in 12 days or possibly sooner Buy the Vantage for 20 Bucks And Get some Official Support from the Tech Guys perhaps they are a bit More Knowledgable..

I for one can not see why the Games Run Fine I seem to get Very good Frames but this Free Vantage Test I do NOT???
