Hi

I'm doing the Package Delivery mission for the Nieuport and I finally cottoned on to the fact that my life would be easier if I didn't land on the rough brown field (big moment that one). Now I have managed to get the plane down, the package delivered, and the thing off the ground again but as I climb away from the field and fly towards the railway line there is a bang and the plane disappears, the mission then ends. In the debrief screen it shows the plane-is-in-the-air symbol but shows "Defeat".

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

I can't think of any valid mission occurrence that would result in a plane just evaporating and I'm assuming I didn't just get the urge to jump ...

Wishing I was in the La Cloche
Never happened to me, and I've flown it a bunch of times. Brown or green field, I think they are equally rough, no? With all that practice I now have little trouble with crash landings while in career, where it matters. Silver linings...

Are you sure one of the soldiers wasn't smoking near your aircraft?

He'd have had a hell of a job lighting a match in that wind ...

I think I've flown that mission 50 times or more, and successfully completed it once. Every time I try to land that plane I end up dead / broken / Ground Loop / etc.

How does one land successfully in that little field. I usually come in low over the trees and try to drop it down, but it never works. Some times I get it landed only to be unable to stop in time. Most of the time it's a ground loop that hoses me.

Are you landing/taking off into the wind? It makes a huge difference in the more lightweight planes like the NP.
