Just wondering if anyone here knows of some nice twin engine turboprop a/c for FSX, either payware or freeware. Something like a Dash 8

thanks

You'd be hard pressed to find something as good as the PMDG Jetstream 41...

Absolutely!

Neeps some horsepower on the CPU though.

PMDG is working on a Dash-8 too, but it`s a little silent around it, so I hope the project ist still on track.

If you are looking for something smaller, the Digital Aviation Piper Cheyenne is great too.

+1 for the PMDG J4100.
It's the best turboprop around at this point!

+2 on the JS-41. Also don't discount Flight1's ATR-72. It has about the same fidelity of the JS-41 and serves a similar role in regional flights. I've been loving this one for years and had both versions, until I lost my FSX version (just have not gotten around to replacing it yet).

The DA Piper Cheyenne is, IMHO, the FSX substitute to Aeroworks most-excellent King Air B200, which is only available for FS9. It's a good alternative if you want something smaller than a commuter.

I had the F1 ATR but refunded it. At least on my system, it clearly showed it is a FS9 model with all the known problems in FSX.

The complexity and modelling of the systems is very good though.

Yeah the ATR was a FS9 model updated to FSX. I never had any real problems, tho. I do believe there were a couple of service packs released. I think issues were related to when you purchased the aircraft. The JS-41, on the other hand, is designed for FSX from the ground up. So, it comes with all the bells and whistles. Still, I believe the ATR is worth the price of admission. If compatibility is a concern, then I would go with the JS-41 all the way.

What was the most annoying part, the quick hints on the knobs and switches weren`t working, which made working such a complex bird very difficult. I too had the Props making clouds dissapaer and the overall look is very dated when compared to the Jetstream. edit: But the cool thing is the refund policy, you can try it out and if it doesn`t work for you, you get your money back without a problem.

As said before, I`m looking foward to the PMDG Dash-8. A true FSX King Air would be cool too, I think F1 worked on one, but I think it`s on hold or cancelled.

I like Carenado's Cessna 208HD. I know the stock game come with one, but Carenado has a real nice offering. The Beechcraft Turbo Duke is real nice took but a frame hog like no other. The Kodiak is real nice as well, but single engine like the 208.
