It is very unusual for me to buy addon aircraft for civilian sims, but I had my interest piqued by the recently released CRJ200. Not a cheap addon either but I have to say I am impressed.
Here we are sat in the cockpit with everything powered off..

Taking a look at the overhead panel, I turn the Battery switch to on:

Here I have just powered up the APU. As you can see, you can bring up the display screens to monitor while throwing switches.

With the APU generator online, all the flight displays come online..

Looking down at the pedestal panel:

Here I have entered our position into the FMS, (KCMH Port Columbus Airport, Columbus Ohio). The INS is going through it's alignment at this point.

While the INS is doing it's thing, I start entering the flightplan into the FMS. Today we are headed to Washington Dulles Intl (KIAD).

Time to fire up the engines... looking at the overhead panel I have turned on the fuel pumps. In this shot I still need to turn on the APU bleed air switches before we can start (an omission on my part - checklist checklist checklist!

). I do have the ignition system armed at least .

Here we have the right engine up and running while the right side is in the process of being started (we just need to add fuel to the engine for it to light off).

Both engines up and pretty much stabilized..

Left and Right generators on, APU generator off..
With the hydraulics on we can now test the flight controls, flaps and spoilers..

Lined up and ready for takeoff..

Climbing out over Zanesville Ohio (you can even see the Y Bridge down there)..

Almost at our first waypoint (ZANDR). At KESSEL VOR (ESL) we join the Royil.2 arrival into Dulles.

My First Officer looking relaxed and cool complete with sunglasses

.

It is starting to get dark as we get closer to Dulles.

All set up to intercept the localizer for runway 1R.

On the localizer, on the glide scope but the landing ended up being far from uneventful (anyone hazard a guess as to why? ;)).

There is a lot to learn with this aircraft. If you are going to do everything correctly then following a checklist is a must. There are a number of systems that are not functional but the vast majority (all the important ones as far as I can tell) are well modeled. Now I need more practice!
