Ok, the sim works quite well on my C2D 2.66, 2gb Ram, 460GTX, Win7 - with everything on medium, I get smooth flying over Le Havre finally- with the latest patch (fps was all over the place with previous patches) . I am actually enjoying it:)

One problem is that I have MSFF2 and CloD decieded to switch force feeback into maximum setting, I dont like that and I'm afraid of damaging the joyustick? COuld some one here share their know how on configuring MSFF2 for Clod (I'm in windows 7, but I assume that XP tricks may also work in some compatibility mode).

I am trying some profiles form Russian forums, and they work for initial 30 sec of the mission, and then CloD switches on maximum force- I have to nearly break the joystick to pull out from dives and cannon fire has joystick recoiling like a real handgun recoil.

Did you overcome such problem? Which settings/profiles are you using?

Thanks for this thread, Borsch.

I find my FFSB2 stick just about jumps off the desk when I've goofed up my engine but still want to make it back to home base. Of course, I just release my grasp on the stick to deactivate the FF and steer gingerly with thumb and index finger -- not quite how it was done back in the day, of course! LOL

I was starting to have ideas about grafting my warthog HOTAS handle onto my msff2 stick base, maybe I will pass if there is yet more problems with msff2's and modern games frown

I can only dream what a factory manufactured warthog with force feedback would be like with proper drivers and software, my msff2 has never been the same since the days of windows 98 frown

Shame Logitechs 940 is a pile o junk frown

I'm really surprised the joystick manufacturers haven't stepped up to the plate and brought out a contender for the MS FFB2's throne.

So what is the reason that other joystick manufacturers can't get it right or simply don't bother? Does the MS stick use some sort of patented technology the others don't want to pay for? Why haven't CH Products given it a go? What puts them off doing it?

There must be a heap of guys queuing up for a viable replacement, I'm sure some money could be made out of this.

1C:Maddox threw the FFB together in COD as a quick patch and haven't fixed any of the bugs since.

My only real problem with FFB in COD is that the bf109 cannon force is far too strong when I have "Realistic gunnery" enabled, when I turn it off the cannon is normal, no other planes (e.g. bf110) have this problem.
