Is there a gadget in Vista or other free software to monitor computer CPU, GPU or temperature in general in the case. My PC is in a cabinet with the door open and a slot in the back of the cabinet bay for exhaust, but it seems warm especially at the top of the computer. I'm thinking of getting a thermatake portable USB fan to exhaust more air out the front. Any opinion?

Speedfan or Coretemp will monitor temps for you.

Check here: http://addgadget.com/

This site has free gadgets to monitor your GPU and CPU, network for Vista and Win 7. To make the CPU gadget to also show the core temp readings you have to download the separate coretemp app that Speedbump mentioned. This can be used independently to the gadget if you want. There is a link to the coretemp app in the GPU gadget options.

I found a link to this site through the Microsoft, they should be quite safe.

Cheers

I use the GPU Observer and Intel Core series gadgets from here: http://www.orbmu2k.de/ . They don't require speedfan or anything else.
