My rof crashes now and then about once every two hours.
I have a brand new mashine running win 7 64 bit.
Is this normal or do I have some kind of driver issue or other?
I do not have problems in other games like a-10, crysis 2 or withcer 2. So I do not believe that it is the hardware overheating.

I have more crashes than I would like, all in career mode which is the only time I play. There are especially frustrating as there is no auto save system.
I had not had RoF installed for 4-6 odd months and before that I did not play a lot but I do recall it appeared to be more stable back then.
I am sure/hopeful that these crashes will be ironed out in the near future.
Cheers,

Two days ago I'd have said Rock solid, but last night I started a neww career (old one died ) and while performing the first mission I recorded it all. Since it was a LONG mission it took almost 1 hour and 45 mins and eventually on the way to base I hit the 500MB limit for recording. Well, after I landed the mission debrief didn't show ANYTHING. NO planes shot down (at least 4 were) no balloons (2 down in flames) and no one of my wingmates died (2 here too). Now, for reality sake's I will consider no score because the weather was actually sooooo bad no one could have confirmed a damn banana. Yet still it burns. At least I have the recording to prove it.

Maybe one lock up that I can remember in about a year's worth of fun, therefore likely not RoF related...

Hmm I guess I might have some kind of issue with my maschine then as most of you seem to have a stable experience.
I guess I should try to reinstall ROF first, and then begin checking all my drivers.....
Thx for the feedback.

It's very stable for me, can't remember when it crashed last time, but I've had some bugs. Note that no other game I know of taxes the CPU as hard as RoF does (doesn't mean there aren't any). If you have lots of units in a mission, RoF will really put all of your CPU cores to work, unlike for example DCS games and iCoD. So if RoF is the only game crashing, I would consider CPU overtemp / other issues at least a possibility. Wouldn't a cpu over temp crash the maschine completely? In my case it is only rof that crashes...

Well, I eat my words. I had flown the longest career mission yet (haven't had much time over the past few weeks), was blasting away at an EIII bleeding petrol fumes, and crash-to-desktop.
Stable up to this point, hopefully just a coincidence...

Had that too, yesterday night actually. Was the CTD matched with a microstutter just before it?

I used to get very occasional rof.exe crashes to desktop. With the 1.19 patch I had several bsod and several rof.exe errors in one evening. I have since updated my graphics card driver and it has been more stable, but have not played the game enough to know if it has cleaned up or not. Kinda hoping the 1.20 may have had some minor fixes in it that caught the problem ( but just hoping)
the general comment would be generally the game is stable, but it is graphically a cutting edge program and depending on your hardware configuration you do run into folks that have some ongoing problems. Old drivers, weak power supply all kinds of things could push it over the edge.
Advise that you clean everything up on your end to troubleshoot and see it if improves.

Try using the 'recovery' option in the update tab first mate.. it will replace and repair any lost files, but it will return your game to default settings I think. So do some backing up first. Will do. And don't get me wrong on this question, I love ROF, its one of the most fun and immersive Sim's I have played. I just wanted to make sure if it is only me that is having problems. I know my hardware is all new and pretty state of the art so it should be able to cope with the game....

Not so sure re the stability of Rise Of Flight since the Last update. Started a flight this evening, during combat, sound goes, and then everything goes into slow motion.
