Hi Guys,

I want to replace the single button on my CH joystick to 4-way hat switch,
I have already contact CH Products, but they do not sell the parts.

Is it possible to make the 4-way hat switch on your own?
Any idea where to get the parts?
If you have some experience to share, please let me know.
Thanks.

HI Tirta,

Fortunately there is no secret Alien science beyond HAT switch. smile

Is just 4 micro switch around a pole. Seems that military ones is the same.
So make one is easy - the funny way:

Picture from Servio in Avia-sim.ru.

Or, look for mini-joystick replacement for cell phones.

The most difficult part to obtain is just the "hat".
But you can replicate one of these in your CH gear with resin.

In this, I improvised:

Splash-one-bandit sold some models at affordable cost:

Digikey sold CH HAT, a bit expensive:

Hi Sokol1,

Thanks for the reply.
Wow, you knows everything! biggrin cheers

The Avia-sim.ru. thread looks very interesting.
About the micro switch, do you have the specification of it?
or just every micro switch is OK to use?

And with the cell phone micro switch, do I get 2 axis instead of 4 buttons?

Those 4-way hat switches from splash one are made for thrustmaster cougar.
How about the diameter and length of the switch?
Are they compatible with CH joystick?

Please advise.

Any good quality micro-switch is suitable.

This cell phone mini-stick dont use axis, is just 4 way switch.

To Splash-one-bandit HAT dimentions you can mail them: sob1@splash-one-bandit.com

Electricaly they are compatible with almost all joystick controller.

Tirta,

For cell phone joystick look at eBay. Honk Kong sellers have good prices with free shipping.
Search for "keypad joystick", or brand name (ie. Nokia) joystick.

Notice that this type is very small - around 8mm side - and in SMD form,
so you need make a PCB. This, more need to adapt the pole for "HAT" probable
make more attractive build one.

These linked by Falstar have more appropriated dimensions - check PDF.
