The game was fubar since release. Not once in the entire games history has it ever felt like star wars. Raph koster was an idiot for making a star wars game be crafting centric. Just about every design decision in the game was just befuddling. The housing and it's urban blight made even playing the game an exercise in frustration and house dodging. The only thing good about the game was space and even that was sub par.
Can't say i'm sad to see it go.

Considering that this MMO lasted over 5 years I guess that could be considered a pretty good success.

Although I have NO IDEA how to play it right now, I'm gonna go back and see whats up. At one time, between 2003-2005, I was VERY addicted to this game. NGE drove me away and pretty much killed the game.

I wanted to love it, but the actual experience didn't keep my interest. The graphics and sound promised me Star Wars nirvana, but the actual game experience starved me.

This game really die the first few months after NGE. Wasn't getting a lot of "acclaim" after the CU for that matter. I stayed on for about a year after NGE and finally realised that this game was no longer the game I wanted to play...the pre-CU one...and left. Never looked back and never felt sad in regards to my decision. Frankly, they should have pulled the plug six months after NGE.

I felt the same way about SWG as I do about Eve....I tried it; I tried it for longer than a month and I thought it sucked butt after 15-20 days...surprised I pushed on through to my magical time frame to say that I actually gave both games a fair shake. I went into both games with eyes and ears open but never got the feeling that I was looking for in either one.

Star Wars Galaxies - very confusing.
Enter game after making persona. Walk around. 200 people dancing and playing music in the cantina. Five people doing something else, usually wandering around asking "what do I do next, and what's up with everyone dancing and playing music?"

I tried Galaxies when they had one of their 2 week free trial periods. I think I played the game for about 3 days before I got totally bored and uninstalled it.
