Hi, I finally got to see F-18 inTriple screen goodness.. Aloth it is in 640x480 x 3. it was not as bad as I have heard it. perhaps the large screens I have made the HUD readable.. the only wierd thing is when you select FLIR in the center MDI it zooms the view in altho not a game ending scenario it just has zoomed effect which can be canceled by pressing EW..

I also want to note I use the wideview pit so that makes it playable. I think I am going to try it a while with the triple screens and see how it goes..
so here are a couple screenshots in tripkle screen mode incase you wanted to know what it looks like..

lol..looks great. I think the FLIR problem might be from the wide-view mod.

Now If I ONLY could get nVidia to support the DX7 games for S3D, I would be golden once again.. but triple screens makes up for the lack of S3D..I wonder if it would be a simple thing to do as DX is supposed to be Backwards compatible well at least that is what they said when it first came out..

Kinda sucks nVidia 3D Vision droped support for the older DX Games..

Also if I was to go about trying to fix the FLIR Problem with it zooming into the pit where would One start??

The FLIR isn't the only problem with this - 640x480 per screen makes the MDI displays downright horrendous.

Each to his own, and I certainly game in triplehead whenever I can, but I think this is only good for flying around in JF-18. As soon as you really start to go about the tasks of completing a mission and you are heads down in the radar or SMS MDI pages, it really gets to you.

Now, with the... shall we say.. recent acquisition of material, perhaps this situation can ultimately be improved.

I will try gaming like this and see. I just had to see what F-18 looked like in a triple screen environment..

Basically when Ii used the non wideview pit I can see the MDI's clear as day?? Even in the wideview pit looks kinda the same as the 1 screen wideview pit perhaps a bit better in triple screens..perhaps the larger screen helps???

I would ask more of your recenlty acquisition of material but I would just ask that you do something with the FLIR in the Triplescreen view so it does not zoom in like it does to ruin the wideview shot..

Also running the game in Triplehead at a higher rez would be good too but I guess there is NO Way around that limitation of DX7 frown

Funny thing is in TAW I can set the triplescreen rez to 3072x768 with the Glide wrapper so there has to be SOME sort of way around that limitation..

You can't change the DX7 limit, but you can re-code to get rid of DX7... That's a lot of work just for triplehead, though.

OK I am game what would be needed to re-code dx7 to dx8. what I mean is what programming language would I need to learn??

it would be worth it for me as It would allow me to game in a Triplehead & S3D Environment in JF-18

Hi, THNX Rudel, I also made a few C++ Programs abit basic but I am on my way.. I will look at your link too will need to learn some DX Stuff as well..

// math.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application.
//

#include "stdafx.h"
#include <iostream>
#include <cmath>
using namespace std;

int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[])
{
cout << "10 + 2 = " << 10 + 2 << endl;
cout << "10 - 2 + = " << 10 - 2 << endl;
cout << "10 * 2 = " << 10 * 2 << endl;
cout << "10 / 2 = " << 10 / 2 << endl;
cout << "10 + 2 * 2 = " << (10 +2) * 2 << endl;
cout << "10 + (2 * 2) = " << 10 + (2 * 2) << endl;
cout << "10 ^ 2 = " << pow(10.0,2.0) << endl;
cout << "SQRT of 10 = " <<sqrt(10.0) << endl <<endl <<endl;
system("PAUSE");

return 0;
}

// one.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application.
//

#include "stdafx.h"
#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[])
{

cout << "This is program #2\n\n\n";
cout << "This is an alert: \a\n";
cout << "This is A \Tab\n";
cout << "Website: http:\\\\PortForward.com\n";
cout << "He Said \"Hello\"\n\n\n";

system("PAUSE");

return 0;

Hi guys thnx for the support but I still have a long way too go..

Altho I did learn a valuable lesson today.. do not forget to include ""#include "stdafx.h"..""

hehe!! drove me nuts for about an hour wink

WEll I just remembered last nigh I had the Source code for EECH. So just a little while ago I installed it and was looking through the code very interesting stuff.
I had DL this years ago but never knew what to do with it meaning to look at the code well I know have the programs to see the code and will spend some time thumbing through that most valuable resource..

I would like to get ahold of the F4 Code wink

any help on why I can not get this working again??

I tried uninstalling F18 and reinstalling it and redownloaded the one click installer still does not work in triplescreen mode??

I was not aware that there was a "triplescreen mode" in TSHv3.06 or in any other F/A-18 version. No help here. Sorry.

It is a resolution option in the TSH Manager, Hedgehog: 1920x480. Nephilim, I have no idea why your problem might be occurring.

Hi sorry to resserect but I tried to get this working again and same thing I get a CTD evertime before I get into the 3D world.. I have tried all sorts of stuff like compatibilty mode running as admin. I even tried messing with the DX Tweaker no good all CTD..

Are these CTD Logs not worth anything I thought If I posted them someone who can interpert them would see what is going on and give me an idea of what I can do to try..If I can get this working that would be great but if not it will remain in the archives collectin dust..

I hope the DCS SH pans out and I can retire JF-18 for good..

Before your Windows installation, what version of TSH was installed?

Have you upgraded your video drivers after you reinstalled windows?

Are you using 640x480 mode in the game options?

well both times I had 3.06 installed but I also tried the 4.02 version neither work..well before I was using the same vid drivers but now I am using 296.10 drivers..

I will check but I dont think 640 x 480 is even in the options menu??

Yes, you're right...1024 is what I meant, not 640.

Try using the previous video drivers, TSHv 3.06, adjust the in-game settings to 1024, TSH to 'Same As Desktop'

well the Desktop rez is 3072 x 768 and I did try that the game CTD as well.. I even tried making my Desktop to 1920 x 480 and setting same as desktop it still did NOT work..

I may try a older nVidia driver I beleive it was the 275 drivers that worked back then.. I really would like to get this working again in TripleScreen it was so Cool..
