Time for a mini-rant...
This is what bothers me about SimHQ online racing. Every time there is an organized race the guys NEVER use one of the zillion "stock" automobiles. You know, the ones EVERYBODY has. It's always some new or obscure mod that hardly anyone has. That drives me crazy.
If you're going to do Race ON, how about one of the WTCC years? Or STCC? Or American Muscle? You know, one of the car sets that came with the game? That way, no one has to go hunting for the new or obscure add-on. Many of those for rFactor don't even come with self-executable installers. I find this approach very frustrating.
A zillion cars for Race07/GTR Evo/RAce On but never a race with the cars that come with the sims. This is why I find it so difficult to participate, and I'm sure others do too.
Now a "retro" add-on. Didn't come with the sims. SIGH. I've never heard of it.
I'm not against trying new/add-on cars. Not at all. I just don't undestand why no matter whether it is GTR2, Race On, or rFactor, the SimHQ races never seem to be with the cars that absolutely everybody has if they simply installed the retail sim.
Here's what's really ironic. When I suggest playing Ghost Recon Classic online with one of the more complete total conversions, SimHQ has the opposite reaction: let's stick with the stock maps and gear. I give up.
