CFS2 out of the box is still very strong. I do have the WW1 total conversion called "Combat Aces." I also have the Korean Air War conversion and (somewhere) the D-Day WWII in Europe conversion, if I can find it. But just the stock CFS2 is wonderful. I like it better than the stock CFS3.

Would it be possible for you to share those conversions? Especially the D-Day one? My bad. I confused CFS2 with CFS3. The D-Day conversion was made for CFS3, not CFS2. I only have Korean Combat Pilot and Combat Aces (WWI) for CFS2. Oh yes, and the Pearl Harbor add-on. Back in the day, Pearl Harbor reduced one's PC to a slide show. Absolutely killed your frame rate on those older Pentium IIs and Pentium IIIs. But with newer PCs and more modern video cards, Pearl Harbor is a breeze.

You can still get the CFS2 addons here, at very reasonable proces, just search for CFS2. They are limited to a given theme eg Dambusters but what they do, they do quite well: http://www.justflight.com/flightsimboxedaddons.aspThe D-Day addon for CFS THREE mentioned above was excellent, it made CFS3 closer than anything else to what it should have been from the start, but it won't install properly on my Vista PC. The CFS3 Mosquito Combat addon is also very good and works with my Vista install, as do the excellent Firepower and Memphis Belle addons (all are also available from Just Flight). But the ultimate WW2 addon for CFS3 is now the ETO expansion, details here: http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/cfs-i-ii-iii/cfs3-eto-expansion-17765.htmlIt involves very large downloads of each version (you can't just install the most recent one) but it is VERY worthwhile. The install procedure is rather fiddly but the latest instructions are extremely good and are easy to follow, and the result is a sim transformed WAY beyond any other CFS3 addon (except for some of the features of OFF - something with the combined features of OFF and ETO expansion would be perfect!). For anyone not much interested in the Eastern Front or who prefer CFS2's Pacific Theatre to the very limited one of Pacific Fighters, CFS3+ETO Expansion is surely the premier WW2 air combat simulator. It doesn't do the Battle of Britain as well as BoB1/BoB2 of course but for its great graphics and sheer scope, including a truly fantastic array of flyable planes, it is really not to be missed.

Didn't see D-Day for sale at Just Flight. It must be out of circulation, eh? One thing I discovered is that a couple of the add-ons don't work perfectly together. I think D-Day conflicts somewhat with Firepower, if you have both installed at the same time. One of the "bugs" in that double install is a couple of Firepower planes stopped showing up in the selection list. I mean, you can have both installed simultaneously but there will be a couple of strange things. No show stoppers though. Then again, it might be Memphis Belle and Firepower or D-Day and Memphis Belle. Dammit, I don't remember exactly which ones conflict.

Don't think I have had any conflicts with my CFS2 and CFS3 addons. Firepower and D-Day I think might not mix, so I had used separate installs for those when I had XP. Think the prob with D-Day now is something to do with the different place Vista puts CFS3's "User" files, the ones that don't go into the main Prog Files/MS games/CFS3 folder. There is probably a workaround and I would still love to be able to fly D-Day's RAF campaigns even with the excellent CFS3 ETO expansion but I have not cracked that yet.
Firepower's B17F conflicted with Memphis Belle's B17F but Just Flight released a patch to the latter which meant they could co-exist. I now have one install of CFS3+ ETO Expansion and one with Firepower + Memphis Belle + Mosquito Combat. My CFS2 install (stock at the moment apart from a few addon planes and campaigns) has Dambusters, Double Trouble (P51+FW190), Mosquito Combat, Combat Aces (WW1), Mig-v-Sabre, Vietnam Air War (planning to install Pearl Harbour again soon, too, also a Japanese-made payware Val campaign I got a while back).

33lima, I think you are correct. Firepower and D-Day did not mix well for CFS3. Tht's where I had my trouble. For CFS2, Combat Aces was fun. Korean Combat Pilot was okay. I still have all my add-ons but only Pearl Harbor is installed, at the moment.
