Just moved one of the computers to WIN7. Noted Media Player opens only in Non-Full Screen, in the Upper Left corner. Not very handy if you prefer the TB on the Top Edge. Moved the TB to Right Edge and living with it. Any way to either make WMP open somewhere else, or open Full Screen ??

Wondering what the 'Thumb-Tack' button is ?? [The 'full screen button' is one way; so is double clicking on the 'video'... but neither 'holds' as default]

Yes, it's in the lower left hand corner. It's a small box with an arrow in it.

Actually, I hardly use WMP. I use VLC or Media Player Classic.

[Rats...] Nope. Not a THING 'left' of the elapsed time digits...which is to the left of the control panel {pause, shuffle, etc}. I think it is WMP #11.

I use the K-Lite Codec Pack WITH WMP to view MP4 podcasts, etc. But...WMP itself works fine for me [normally]. I have been sliding the TB to the Right Edge when I wanted to look at a video not-full-screen. I set WMP for 'Fit Video to Player on resize'... and '200%'... and without going Full-Screen it nets me a viewable image around 8 X 13 inches [on my 26 inch monior]. I would happily have WMP **OPEN** Full Screen, though...but no Thumb-Tacks here.

Its FREE and has played every format of video I've thrown at it without the need to clog my rig up with codec packs.

Oh, yes.... I saw and used the Orange Traffic Cones once, myself. My needs are pretty simple though, so I didn't get carried away. I only install that ONE Codec 'program'.... and just being there lets me view MP4 podcasts, via WMP. I'm sure you understand all that a lot better than I do.

So.......... looks like another little 'VISTA did it better' thing.... Not a BIG deal...

[a little shame-faced]... Today I *did* find that whilst WIN7-WMP wont remember the size I pull a window.... it DOES remember WHERE I positioned that 'natural' sized window. That means I can position it lower on my DT, opening THERE every time I open WMP... leaving my TB 'up there' happy and not over the top edge of my WMP presentation.

You guys probably knew this......... now *I* do...
