Template is DONE!!!! YEAH!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Seeing the above photo confirms my opinion on what the typical Jasta 11 scheme was in the spring-summer of 1917. I wouldn't really know how to generate a default skin as of yet for them. An all-red D.III? Perhaps place a color as was used by Allmenroder and Wolff such as white, blue, or green in places such as the nose, rudder, and elevator. What color tho? smile

Here is a close-up of the new hood. And as can be seen, someone took some Windex and cleaned it! biggrin

Lothar's D.III with a little artistic imagination to the painted over fin and rudder. Opinions?

And finally a surprise from Jim. This is such a gorgeous scheme. biggrin

Ahhh...good to be concentrating on skins again! biggrin

Man, is that gorgeous!

I'm traveling today and have no time to write; I'm just shutting down the comp now. I'll write about this more tonight or tomorrow.

Outstanding job!

Oh Graf, my friend!
Since you made that mistake to show a close up of the new hood and declare the template done.(???)
I'll consider it as a hubris from your side and make my final anal comment! behindcouch
Of course you are free to shoot me dead afterwards, for the mental pain I'm causing you and I'll deserve it. ar15

Here it is, then:

I see that the crease has been eliminated, (well, almost as I can still see some traces),
but the shadow that casts had remained the same.
Because of the extra thickness of the metal, the OAW side panels of the hood casted thicker shadow.
Now that the crease has been eliminated, the shadow of the thinner metal should be thinner as well.
And to documentate my anality, here is a comparison picture:

screwy

I'm gonna pass on this correction bud. The "traces" you see are he skin mapping not aligning correctly. IMO its too small a detail to change and the shadow itself I think while maybe a tad too dark looks better as is than lighter. I tried both and went this direction to allow the hood to stand out somewhat. smile

I might tone it down abit but don't expect a significant change. wink

I'm new to the skin thing. Can someone tell me which folder under the Rise of Flight/Data/Graphics/Skins directory I copy the skin files to?
