I posted this in the Console Technology subforum since most of the Fanatec interest seems to be from cross-platform console racers, but might be of interest for any Fanatec PC simmers:

Looks great (the Elite wheel), but after the last $700 Fanatec purchase, the "Minister of Finance" here at my house would probably quit (read: divorce) if I tried to make another such purchase. smile

If they make it so that the Elite wheel accepts the F1 wheel for hot-swap, I really need to figure out where to get some 1000EUR for next year.

All I want is the shifter, the one thing they didn't have on hand. LOL
I'm ready to order! If it's going to be 2012, the SST still looks good.

BTW Thomas also mentioned on a GTP thread today that because the CSR wheel took all the attention, all the E3 reviewers somehow overlooked their new CSR shifter which is an improved model of the current $30 Porsche Shifter, with a metal shift knob and tweaked internals to not be so noisy, some have guessed that may come in at $50 in between the $30 Porsche Shifter and their upcoming $100 Clubsport Shifter...

Neither of their new shifters is supposed to ship until end of year as far as I know, so I went ahead and ordered one of the $30 Porsche shifter sets to go with my GT2, should be here next week and I will likely mod it to not be so loud, one of the benefits of the price is I won't be scared to try some of the mods on youtube for it.

Is the CSR a stand alone shifter, or is it strictly for Fanatec wheel use?
The CSP is supposed to also be USB so you can use it on any game that allows it with any wheel.

I'm guessing since it is just like the current Porsche shifter it will be Fanatec wheel use only.
