This is the culimination of 16 months of work...much of it full-time. There are too many fingerprints on it to identify everyone who did something. These are the main people who deserve credit for creating this visual history book and flight sim art.

TK and Thirdwire: Amazingly plastic flight engine especially good at realistic lighting.
Deuces: Oahu, Wake Island, the trees, the tiles, the clouds
Edward: Burma, Wake Island
Hinchinbrooke: All the ships in Rising Sun start to finish (as well as Yankee Air Pirate).
MPPD: If Pearl Harbor and Rangoon amaze you, everything above the sand is his work.
PanamaRed: Windows 7/ Strike Fighters 2 conversion, clouds, effects.
Geo: Pilots, cockpits.
Sundowner: for that great Hurricane skin.
Eightlein: Hours and hours and hours and hours.....
Peet's: for a lot of coffee

And the stories:

The Rising Sun, the Decline and Fall of the Japanese Empire by John Toland

Flying Tigers by Dan Ford

Soldiers of Fortune by Sterling Seagrave

A Bloody Shambles by Christopher Shores

Congratulations on this new product from YAP team. I look forward to getting this as soon as my paypal a/c is topped up. I just have to figure out which version I will go for as I have a PC running Vista and a gaming laptop running Windows7. biggrin

Win7-64bit, Alienware X51, Graphics card NVDIA GeForce GTX 555

Wishing I was in the La Cloche
Also congratulations. I've seen some early posts on the project and happy to hear it has come to fruition.

Some confusion though, on the http://www.yankeeairpirate.net/BuyRSPage.html page, there is a link to StrikeFighters2 at 3rdWire. Does this payware mod work with SF2? I heard it did not, but correct me if wrong, it may/may not be misleading.

Best to the project team in your endeavor.

The Win7 versions works with SF2.
The XP version works with SF1...patched to 2008.

Upgrading from the XP version to the Windows 7 version is free by download when and if you make the switch.

Gotta have tanks that will fit into a landing craft if you want to fight across the Pacific.

Type 95 Ha Go

M-3 Stuart

Mike keeps putting ships into this flying game so I' putting in tanks. Later, Type 91 Chi Ha and M-4 Sherman...with a flame thrower. We invented it in YAP years ago with the Pacific War in mind.

The US Tank looks like a M3A1 Stuart. I believe the Marines on Guadalcanal used the M2A4s(I don't think they every were named). From what I read the main spotting difference is that the Idler wheel for the M2A4 was raised intead of trailing on the ground.

Cool! I knew I'd seen that shot of the M3A1 before. I'd say unless you guys are overly bored, stick with the M3A1 (add back in the .30 cal Sponson Mg's) and call it good. I don't plan on doting on them much when flying a Cactus Cat off of Henderson.
