Now the trouble has turned in to opportunities, I have a dedicated sim room, how best can I grow the beast now lol.

metalnwood Member Registered: 05/31/09 Posts: 134	Do you mean like mustangs and paradazas? I would not offset the pillar, it should be done on my extension as you guys have it. If you just turn the pillar then you will either have a problem of introducing unwanted roll when pulling straight back on the stick or you need to use target to compensate for it but I don't like that method. As you have the extender I would just do it there and then it is very easy to tweak it to your liking by loosening the top grub screw and turning/tightening again.

By the way thanks guys for the excellent info, I read the other thread with all the photos! With the offset, you can adjust in the TARGET software to counter unwanted roll. So if you offset by 15 degrees, you just add a line to your profile scripts to counter that. There is a function specifically for that to cater for cockpit builders. I'm just wondering if people find they like it like this for ergonomics, or if it's a detriment to precision to do this..

metalnwood Member Registered: 05/31/09 Posts: 134	Yes you can do that Taipan but you wouldn't want to do that. With my extension that you have you just need rotate the top adaptor around the tubing. That way you are not rotating the base and have to do the TARGET thing. The stick will be ergonomically rotated but the axis directions will remain true.

Now I just wait on the carbon fibre covering before I can build this Although the extension gives a smoother movement, do you guys also find the need to replace the grease in the ball joint? Lots of people were saying it helped get rid of sticktion over at ED forums: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62564&highlight=grease I'll have to see how I go, but I use the stick almost every day now, it could be better to regrease it.
