Disassembly is easy enough, the only part that is moderately difficult is trimming the shaft down to fit the new bearing.

The difference after the bearing mod is like night and day, feels like a completely different wheel.

do that, and find some used G25/27 Pedals *if you dont already have them*, and use the Pinout to make a adapter to use the G2x Pedals

MS Wheel w/ G25 Pedals info:
http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/2967686/ShowThread.aspx

Using RockBand Pedal for Clutch (I basically wired my G2x Clutch pedal the same way).
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=694648

I actually made "Leads" for every button on the wheel, so Every button has wires coming out of the back of the Wheel housing with connectors from radio shack on the ends, that way If i want to move my clutch pedal or seq. shifter setup from one button to another, I can just unclip and clip to a different set of leads (they are separated with tape and labeled.)

True, but if M$ is supporting them on this, then maybe customer service will be better.

Thanks, that looks simple enough. I think I'll give it a shot.

I'm pretty happy with the pedals, I've beefed up the springs, and mounted them more vertical. This should be a great improvement until I get a new one.

not intending to start a flamewar or anything similar but I thought Fanatec was caught short by supplies and quality of the GT2 in first batch at the new year but has since cleaned up their act with shorter waits and better QC? Of course, that does not mean we will not see the same cluster**** if this new wheel is in high demand! LOL

You and Mag both have a point. The QC of the wheels up to this point has had me worried, too worried to even consider dropping the coin on one.

However, if Fanatec now has financial backing from MS? That is another kettle of wahoo entirely. That changes the situation considerably.

Fanatec closed one of their manufacturing facilities because of DoA and failure rates linked back to that facility.

which also caused the 6-10 Month wait on Wheels.
