This is a small show, and while it has some interesting aircraft attending, it kind of lacks a "wow" factor, but I still ended up taking a boatload of photos.

Almost everything flying has to be shot at 400mm to get any detail, which makes things a little more difficult, and the lighting is OK but not great, but it was a fun challenge.

#1 - A B-17 landing while a B-25 waits to take off

#2 - A closer shot of the B-17 landing

#3 - The B-25 flies overhead with the bomb bay doors open

#4 - The B-25 landing

#5 - 2 of the 4 Stearman aircraft taxiing

#6 - The four Stearmans (Stearmen?) testing smoke and waiting to take off

#7 - The four Stearmans in flight

That wasn't the Planes of Fame Zero but it's still cool. I was at PoF on Saturday and it was still there. The PoF Zero's tail number is 61-120.
Plane's of Fame Zero 61-120

Great shots all around. clapping

Ah, good to know Wheels, thanks. They had other Chino planes there, so I just assumed it was their Zero as well. I think they might have even announced that it had the original engine, which I didn't question since some other PoF planes were there (and I didn't have the tail numbers memorized).

Good stuff Arthonon. The N-9M looks like a rare catch amongst all the other "normal" aircraft. The steep hills in the background makes a change from the usual blue (or white in the UK) sky as well.
Quite nice for the Spad crew to load it up with dummy bombs as well - makes a change from clean aircraft.

The announcer probably did say that it was Chino's Zero. With as many planes as I see of Chino's in your photographs it would be an easy mistake to make.

I just missed catching a picture of the Flying Wing heading home after the show. I heard it coming from the sounds of the engine but I couldn't get outside fast enough with my camera. frown

Ken, those Stearman pictures are great! I love watching (and hearing) them at airshows!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

I have kind of a soft spot for this show, partly because it's very convenient for me to get to, partly because it's at the same field I was taking flying lessons from, and partly because it was at this show in 2001 that I got bitten by the photography bug. Back then, I had a cheap 2MP camera with no zoom, and was frustrated that none of the pictures of aircraft in the air were any good, and thus started my meteoric outflow of cash on camera equipment.

Anyway, because I have that soft spot for it, I took a boatload of photos, far more than posted here, so if anyone wants to take a look at them, here's the link (there's three pages worth):
