Hey guys,

I just bought FSX to try out some civilian flying. I am probably about to buy REX and UTX. Are they all that's needed to get the game looking nice? I understand that there are many, many more addons but is this all I need right now?

Also, I understand the stock aircraft aren't great. I'm used to DCS fidelity, so is PMDG the way to go?

It`s a good start. GEX is one essential too.

I have the PMDG Jetstream, it`s a great bird, can`t comment on the others.

Make sure to read through the performance thread stickied above, some good advice there.

Cool, I will buy that too...Credit card taking a hit this month Do you recommend the jetstream then? For a start I want something more flyable than the MD-11 or 747...Something I can start flying with tonight. Also, how is TrackIR in FSX? It's incredible in DCS A10 and BS and hope it is good here too!

Well,

as for flying tonight, at least take a look at the manual of the Jetstream. If you are starting from cold`n dark, expect to barbeque some turbines, before you get airborne the first time. Also watch for the exhaust temp and the condition levers, just pulling the throttle forward will end in melted metal too.

The simpler planes, like the C172 are pretty accurate in systems, if you want to start with cold/dark setup.

Fly the missions, too, they are a lot of fun.

Make sure you get this. It's free and better than the stock one.

facetracknoir works great in fsx, so assume trackir works even better
