Does anyone know how to get the early Ratbag games, DTR, DTR Sprint Cars, and Leadfoot working in Windows 7 64-bit?

I can install them, I can start the game, but the game menu appears as blank blocks instead of text. The cursor is a white square instead of an arrow. Everything works, but the text is gone.

I'm trying to run them under DirectX (D3D) on a Radeon 5870 with an AMD Phenom II 6-core if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Cheers!

Sauron, some years ago I've made exactly the same experience under WinXP and with an Ati-card (HD3850).

The only way to get Leadfoot to run here was putting in an older PCI-card and using it for this game. Alternatively I tried an additional Voodoo2 card.

Both solutions worked, but albeit I really liked Leadfoot back then I considered it not worth the hassle anymore. It also wasn't as stable as back in 2002.

Thanks for the info purolator! I was wondering if it might be an ATI card issue. I have DTR2, WoO Sprint Cars, and Saturday Night Speedway up and running and they cover pretty much the same ground, so I guess I'll let it go then. Just thought it would be nice to run the old titles again for old time's sake.

Cheers!

I have Vista 64 bit and an running DTR Sprint cars perfect with the dgvoodoo glide wrapper. I know its not Windows 7 but they are very similar so it should be possible. In my opinion, DTRSC was way better than WOO and Saturday Night speedway. I am at work right now so if you want more info I would be happy to share my settings and such to get you up and running.

Thanks LSF10! I was thinking about trying a glide wrapper before I gave up, I think I'll give it a try. If I have any problems, I'll get in touch. Thanks again!

Cheers!

Regarding GlideWrapper, that's indeed a good idea. thumbsup Will try that myself as well, I really liked Leadfoot, hopefully it will work with a G25 as well.

While trying to get DTRSC working the menus were kinda porked but on the DGvoodoo set up screen you need to check the option for "Windowed" mode or similar(cant remember exactly,I am at work right now). When you check this it fixes menu problems but curiosly still displays full screen.
