What size SD cards are you using and how many RAW images can you fit on?

Never mind. Just saw that RAW file sizes are 10.8MB, so roughly just less that 100 shots per GB

With a freshly formatted 4 gig card, my D90 shows 261 shots remaining. I have never filled a card up, but I think I read somewhere that the counter is conservative as not all RAW files are the same size due to compression.

Thanks. That makes sense. My D70 was pretty conservative with RAW shot counters too. Sometimes I'd take a pic and the counter wouldn't go down.

My old D60 was always conservative, especially when shooting jpg, but then I guess blue/white sky always compressed well.

If it makes you feel any better, my D7000 makes 15-17mb RAW files. I can't just hold down the trigger any more.
