Not liking this at all... and thinking more and more that I'm done with the series and sticking with the battlefield series... JMO

Don't waste your money. I can't stand the idea of paying a subscription fee on any game I don't care what it is. As long as the basic mp is still free who cares about extra maps when its more of the same anyways.

Can't see that site as work is blocking it but isn't this something separate from the COD games?

Doesn't sound worth the cash for me. I will rent the newest CoD on gamefly and play the single player campaign once, but as for buying it I will give my cash to BF3. They actually seem to want to MOVE FORWARD and not rehash the same graphics engine over and over now for what is it now 4 years in a row?

BF3 is about to take the crown.

Definitely not paying money for the "Elite" crap, and this might be the first Call of Duty I'll pass on. I'm just sick to death of the COD style of shooter.

First, I apologize cuz I'm about to ruffle some feathers here, but, you only have yourselves to blame!!!! Everyone who spent $50+ for each new version of this Hollywood shooter, everyone who pre-orderred or camped-out to be the first to play each new version, every rave review and gushing comment, every wannabe clone and ridiculous sales stat were all saying the same thing - hey, this must be what gamers want. There are even some on these forums (a "simulation" forum) who praised this arcade fragfest as being the greatest franchise ever!! This isn't rocket science folks - money talks and the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on CoD spoke very loudly to Activision. This ELITE pay service is just Activision seeing how much the hordes are willing to spend....and you can bet EA would/will do the same thing with the BF franchise if it ever sees numbers like the CoD franchise has!!

Again, I apologize for my comments, they are NOT directed at any single individual. I hope there are enough gamers like you who won't give ELITE a try, but I fear there are too many out there who will so Activision will have no reason to change their formula.

EDIT: silly me, looks like EA isn't going to wait:

"Electronic Arts has launched its own digital gaming platform called Origin, where consumers can buy and download EA titles, as well as games from EA Partners. More than 150 titles are available from launch today, and the company notes that it will be adding many more titles in the coming months, including exclusive limited edition copies of upcoming EA titles. Noteworthy games coming to the service include limited edition versions of Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12. EA has also confirmed that the digital download version of Star Wars: The Old Republic will be exclusively available via Origin."
